Rumors are flying that the sexiest vampire in town is set to replace Russell Brand in the next installment of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” films.
“Pirates of the Caribbean 4” is still in the planning process. Quite rumblings have been going on since the success of the trilogy. Johnny Depp has already expressed his desire to return to his beloved pirate character, Captian Jack Sparrow. Geoffrey Rush, Captain Barbossa, and Gore Verbinski, director, have also pledged their alliance to another “Pirates” installment. However, don’t be looking for Orlando Bloom to renew his role as Will Turner. Keira Knightley will also be forgotten in the new film. The plot is due to center solely around Jack Sparrow according to My Park Mag UK. Several scenarios are still being thrown around. The latest is and addition to the Sparrow family tree. Jack will get a brother.
Russell Brand was said to be in the running along with Zac Efron, but after Brand perturbed in the Disney kingdom by slamming the Jonas Brothers and their dedication to chastity…he is due to be replaced. Current front runner is the new hotness, Robert Pattinson. With his massive and still growing fan base, Disney wants his appeal to ensure the success of another pirate movie. Fingers are crossed for a 2011 start date.
Sign me up. Who doesn’t have Johnny Depp pirate fantasies? Don’t pretend like you don’t want to have his dirty pirate babies. Add R.Patz to the fantasy….wet naps will be handed out at the ticket booth.
UPDATE – After finally hearing back from a rep…Disney is denying any confirmation that Pattinson will be involved. Looks like we will have to wait and see. Currently the movie idea is still in the planning phase and casting, other than those already secured in previous roles, is still being toyed with.

Rob would be a perfect brother to Depp in Pirates 4. He’s got brilliant comedy timing as anyone who has seen him in Bad Mothers handbook will testify to.
I love The Bad Mother Handnbook… Daniel is my fav Robert Character to date. I hope he gets to play in Pirates.

Where do these rumors come from? I mean, it would be absolutely dreamy. (Forgive my tweeny language, but honestly, it is the right word.) However, I don’t want to get my hopes up unnecessarily. When writers say its a “rumor” does that mean that they could have just made it up themselves?
I would be so happy if this was true. I adore pattinson and think he’s a wonderful actor.

It’s true Robert is a great actor. His role as Daniel Gale in The Bad Mother’s Handbook was seriously perfect. But I have to say I think Russell Brand would be a better pick. If you look at his facial structure it’s similiar to Johnny’s so that it’s pausible they could pass as brothers, or even cousins, and Russell Brand has that eccentric personality that would fit with Jack Sparrow’s. If Robert is chosen to play Jack’s brother it’ll only be so that the movie sells rather than because they thik he’s the best choice.
I agree. Poor Rob will only be used to sell the movie. I’m sure he’ll do an amazing job of it and will have all the girl’s swooning but that’s just it. It would be like Disney using him as bait for yet another crazy installment. Four is overkill, we all know it. And it’s not like Johnny isn’t going to be bringing any fans to the movie, hell, the fact that it is a Pirates movie will bring in fans but seriously. Russell Brand is the better choice here ladies and gents, it’s just the way it is.

Um…..YES! That would be a dream come true. Rob is just weird enough to pull this off. Plus, you know he’d be hot rocking those piratey dreads. Lets just make a list of all the fantasy men girls dream about and get Rob into the slot. Vampire..check. Pirate…Check. Now if we can just get a Rock star, a Prince and Doctor we’ll be good to go.

I don’t agree with all the people who said that Russel should play Jack’s brother because he looks and acts like him. The contrast between Jack’s character and Will Turner was a very pleasent one. I think Johnny Depp’s should be the opposite of him, hence Robert. Robert is tall, blonde and could act scary, funny, and lost all at the same time and that would be a perfect brother for Johnny. And guys I don’t think Disney’s reason for considering him is his newfound fame because they have already invested a 57 Million Dollars in Johnny Depp knowing that he alone will create a boxoffice hit.

Someone needs to do their math here….there is no way R.Patz can do this film since he’ll be filming the three Twilight sequels; New Moon (which isn’t going to be out until 2010), Eclipse (due out 2012) and Breaking Dawn (due out 2013), so when exactly is he suppose to film this? Specially if filming is to begin 2011?

He is one of the most versatile YOUNG actors in the industry (The Bad Mother’s handbook, The Haunted Airman, How To Be)…and he’s set to do a gay role in little ashes. how more versatile can an actor get??? Surely he WAS not as famous as the others because he when he chooses his roles, he bases it on the SCRIPT and not the the revenue of the movie hence, landed on independent films.

I love Johnny Depp and understand that he bought the rights to the novel Shantaram. He would be amazing in the part…any news on the progress of Shantaram would be of interest to me and all the other Shantaram fans.
Jonny Depp will sell this movie, not “sparkle”. Captain Jack will prevail!! It’s all about him. Although I must say, Orlando looked pretty hot at “Worlds End”….
I am so excited for this movie! Although i think Robert would be a good choice for the role i think that russell brand would just “fit” better as jack sparrows brother. I could ttly see him playing a younger brother and R.Patz not so much…Dont get me wrong i love him i just dont think he’s right for the role. If R.patz does get the role though i think he will do a fine job.
