‘New Moon’ Altered for Robert Pattinson

The next installment to the vampire saga that is on every hot list is going to be a labor of love. Rumors are running rampant that Summit is concerned about the film’s success. While there is little to no doubt the film will do well, concerns are focused on the monumental following Robert Pattinson is pulling.

The “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon,” focuses on Bella Swan’s best friend, Jacob Black. There is drama in the casting department for Jacob, but beyond that there is a lack of the heartthrob factor of Edward Cullen. Summit fears that the lack of Robert and his character in the film will leave the audience unhappy and won’t bring the numbers they are hoping for.

So spies are squealing that the plot and script are being altered to give Pattinson more screen time.

“They want to find a way to give Robert a bigger role than the book calls for without making major changes to the story line.”

Currently Taylor Lautner is still fighting for his role as Jacob, but Michael Copon is pulling ahead according to Life and Style.

i love robert pattinson just as much as the next person…. like i would marry the boy if i could… but i think if they gave him a bigger role when his character isn’t in the book…. it’s gonna throw the entire thing off…

That’s idiotic, the only people who won’t see the movie if Pattinson isn’t on it are the girls who didn’t read the book and think he’s ssooooo hot. They should just let it be, it’s great the way it is.

So just put him in the scene behind Bella’s shoulder every time she “hears” his voice. Make her spin around a bit looking for him, making it obvious he’s not really there, and it’s good. Then you’ve got him some screen time and don’t have to fuck with the book/plot.

Also, if they can figure out how to do it, they should have both actors play Jacob… start out with Taylor and move on to Michael as he finishes transforming. Or not. Taylor’s been working out… keep him in the role.

Meh.

well, i think they should stick to the book!! The point in NEW MOON is for the series to have a twist. I suggest people whould start reading the book, they’d understand better…

I agree with Phelix. Have Edward stand behind Bella when she hears his voice! i live your idea Phelix. If they give him more screen time in New Moon then it would be nothing like the book. but if they do what Pheliz said then it would be fine!!!!

Keep Taylor Lautner for Jacob Black. He is the cutest one on the screen. then Robert, then Kellan…. lol

I think that you should have show what edward does when hes away from bella how he trys to track with no sucsess, like both between both of them and how they are having an extremly hard time with not being with each other. I mean yes this doesnt follow the book completly but then it also gives him more screen time….

Why doesn’t Summit Entertainment understand that we read the books and know what New Moon is about!!!!! Team Jacob deserves their movie. We can wait to see Robert Pattinson when Bella gets to Italy, honest.

The book is wonderful, for the entire saga to play out, it is important for Jacob to be developed in New Moon. Phelix is right Edward could be placed behind Bella when she hears voices. If they try to keep the movie in the 2-2 1/2 hour range, Edward would be absent for about 1/2 the movie, give or take. The fans who have read the books will enjoy the genuine product evan if it is sans Edward for a bit. The need to develop Jacob is vital for the third book Eclipse. As far as Taylor continuing his role as Jacob, it would be difficult as Jacob’s character reaches the 6 foot plus description in the book. Maybe the management staff should look at the lead male in the movie Covenant. He is about the right stature and has played in “dark movies” before.

hush people!!!I’ve read the book, but I still prefer to see more of Edward, I kinda like that idea, so what’s wrong with that? besides it doesn’t mentioned that they will change the story in favor of Edward thus, it says that “They want to find a way to give Robert a bigger role than the book calls for without making major changes to the story line.” See there you have it WITHOUT MAKING MAJOR CHANGES ON THE STORY LINE!!! So let’s just wait and see… Let’s just accept the fact that Edward’s character do major contribution on the success of the film and not everyone read the book but still it became a major hit.
