Robyn Moore Gibson has filed legal papers to divorce Mel. She cited irreconcilable differences for the reason behind dissolution of their marriage. The couple share 7 children and only one of them, Tom, is a minor. She is asking for joint physical and legal custody of Tom. The wife typically gets half the estate and it is rumored that she could get up to $450 million. In addition she is also asking for spousal support and attorney fees.
They released a statement stating that they just want their privacy and confirmed that they have been separated.

“Throughout our marriage and separation we have always strived to maintain the privacy and integrity of our family and will continue to do so.”
Mel and Robyn have said to have been separated for nearly 3 years. No official date of separation was listed on the papers.
