It may be just a hunch, but I don’t think Billy Ray Cyrus will be winning any “Father of the Year” awards anytime soon! Speaking out for the first time, Cyrus doesn’t think that anything is wrong with his daughter Miley’s pole dancing at the Teen Choice Awards last week. Um, excuse me? The fact that she’s only 16 is wrong enough! While singing her latest hit song, “Party In The USA,” Miley jumped on top of an ice cream cart that was being pushed by her back up dancers. She then crouched and danced next to a metal pole attached to the top of the cart, which set off a firestorm of criticism all over the place and leaving behind a trail of ticked off mothers of daughters who look up to Cyrus as a role model.
Per Access Hollywood:
“You know what? I just think that Miley loves entertaining people,” Billy Ray told Access. “She loves singing [and] songwriting. I always tell her to love what you’re doing and stay focused for the love of the art and not worry so much about opinion,” he added. “I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it’s important.”
So your underage daughter dancing provocatively on a metal pole is considered art? The window is closing on the Cyrus family’s chance to set this girl straight or she will be well on her way to becoming a ‘Lohanesque’ sort of mess. I give it two years, tops, and we’ll have some Miley Cyrus naked pictures or a sex tape being shopped around.

I saw Miley Cyrus sing Party in the USA on Today and she grabbed the pole holding up the tent. I also saw her during an awards show where she sang Climb and grabbed onto the rail of a cage that moved to the top of the stairs. And now you tell me that little sister Noah was backstage grabbing onto the ice cream truck pole “unaware that she was doing something wrong” Boo hisss.
Wrongness is in the minds of adults and not the actions of teens or pre-teens. We lived through Elvis and his hips. Let’s try and get past Miley Cyrus pole dancing with an ice cream pole.

Pole dancing has been a sacred old dance since like the greeks! it shows off acrobatic abilities and its a beautiful art! it wasnt until strippers started to use it as seduction that pole danceing became known as a SLUTY thing!

Give her a break… She didn’t hump the pole!!! Has anyone ever seen a real pole dance?! That was not a pole dance… If I went to see a pole dance and thats what I got I’d leave in the middle of it… Yes she danced with a pole… She danced the same way she did through any other show or video but there just happened to be a pole next to her… And FYI… our children which people seem to scream miley cirus is ruining didnt even notice until uptight parents scram about it… They were just excited to see her… Not thinking anything else… We wonder why all the preteen singers grow up to be druggies and anorexic and ect when we, the public, bash them for anything we can think of… GET OVR IT PEOPLE
