Today is a dark, dark day kittens. Very rarely is my cold, bitter heart broken. It’s happened only twice: First when Ricky Schroeder decided to go by ‘Rick’ and secondly when ‘Just the Ten of Us’ was deemed unfit to watch by my parents.
It’s happened again.
CBS has announced that, after 54 glorious years on the air, it’s pulling the plug on daytime soap ‘As the World Turns.‘ Carly Tenny Munson Snyder NOOOOOO!!!!!
Via Entertainment Weekly:
“We are disappointed and saddened by the news that the show is not being renewed,” said ATWT exec producer Chris Goutman in a statement. ”It will certainly be a loss for all of us, and for the show’s loyal audience.”
This announcement comes only a few months after CBS canceled ‘Guiding Light’ the longest running soap opera to date. There’s also some noise that the folks over at NBC have plans to axe ‘One Life to Live’ which would drop daytime television to only five daytime dramas.
Outrage!!! Where else am I supposed to get my daily dose of hot, shirtless men saying things like, “The wind swept away my fear and led me straight to your arms. Now, let’s poison my wife and I’ll fly us to Fiji in my private plane.”?
This had better mean Carly and Jack get back together.
