Obviously we have a SPOILER ALERT right here. The 2009 winner of Top Chef has been crowned, handed some cash and gets to prance around with a sash waving a zucchini in the air victoriously.
The 2009 season of Top Chef was one of the better seasons. Between early front runners Kevin, Jennifer and the Voltaggio brothers and the ever annoying Robin, you had a good mix of raw talent and pure dumb luck (ahem…Robin). Kevin and his beard one the hearts of America and was named fan favorite.
I was standing by my person favs. Of course, I watched for impure reasons. I have been harboring a not-so-secret crush on the Voltaggio brothers who bickered through the entire season and made me want to say: “Boys, boys, boys! Stop arguing. There is enough of me to go around!” Bryan, the slightly older brother, seemed like the type to roll over the next morning and make you waffles after a night of sexy times, while Michael would have made your eyes roll back into you head and then slip out before daylight saying: “Thanks! See ya later Carla!”
The winner? Michael Voltaggio barely won the title as Top Chef. He had stiff competition and despite a dessert issue (desserts were mandatory this year) he managed to walk away the winner. Part of me really pulled for his brother. Bryan seemed more deserving of the title and Michael lacked any kind of humility.
Alas…another season is over and I will have to turn to Food Network for my food porn fix.
