Lady Gaga was forced to postpone a concert on Thursday night just minutes before she was scheduled to go on stage after suffering from breathing problems and passing out. The postponement of the show at Purdue University’s Elliott Hall of Music came after opening acts Jason Derulo and Semi Precious Weapons had already performed. A statement released by the school from Lady Gaga’s tour management said that she had suffered a sudden illness and that medical personnel had advised her not to perform, causing her to reschedule the concert to January 26th. A loud expletive chant came from the crowd after a police officer came on the stage to announce the postponement.
Per WLFI:
“I was angry, but people get sick and they said that the paramedics said that she shouldn’t go on, so it’s obviously not just a cold. I’m guessing it’s something a little more serious, so I hope she is better by the 26th so we get to come back and see her,” said Kim Kelley, who traveled from Terre Haute for the show.
Lady Gaga took to her Twitter account to write that she was “was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing,” and was given a diagnosis of exhaustion and dehydration. She said her show would be too dangerous to perform because she “had passed out earlier.”

“I’ve been crying for hours, I feel like I let my fans down 2nite. An hour before the show, I was feeling dizzy and having trouble breathing. Paramedics came to take care of me, and told me my heart-rate was irregular — a result of exhaustion and dehydration. can’t apologize enough for how sorry I am. I could hear my fans cheering from my dressing room, I begged everyone to let me go onstage. My stage has complicated mechanical elements,everyone was concerned I’d be in danger during the 2hr show, since I had passed out earlier. I am so devastated. I have performed with the flu, a cold, strep throat: I would never cancel a show just based on discomfort. I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me. I will make-up the performance on Jan 26.”
