Known as the lead singer of the hipster band ‘The Knack’, Fieger passed away at his home just outside of Los Angeles after battling cancer.

Fieger credits the success of ‘My Sharona’ on a former girlfriend who inspired the song.

“I had never met a girl like her — ever. She induced madness. She was a very powerful presence. She had an insouciance that wouldn’t quit. She was very self-assured. … She also had an overpowering scent, and it drove me crazy.”

In tribute, we demand you take time this week to re-watch ‘Reality Bites’ while dancing around your living room remembering when Ethan Hawke was totally hot.
