Mariah Carey Pregnancy Rumors Reheat at Oscars

Mariah Carey has been packing on a few curvy pounds and reportedly “dropped hints” to a possible pregnancy. While at the Independent Spirit Awards, she played coy.

Via NY Post:

“I have a lot of new acting projects coming up. I am talking to ['Precious' director Lee Daniels] about at least three movies. But there’s also something else very special on the way. I can’t say any more.”

Hollywood Life also mentioned she also snubbed alcohol at the event. We all know how much Mimi likes her champagne so this was odd to see her only accepting mineral water. This is hardly cause to bust out a Hello Kitty bassinet for a baby glitter beast and her rep insists that Mariah is NOT pregnant, so I am guessing girl discovered how delicious Twinkies are.

Basically in Hollywood if you eat say, I dunno, a super yummy #14 Bootlegger Club with cheese, extra mayo from Jimmy Johns and then have a little bloat….you are pregnant. So lets keep the hope that the world be free of Junior Sparkle Horse for the time being.

Oscars 2010. Ryan Seacrest polished his lifts, starlets were waxed, plucked and dipped in a respective designer’s dress and I (armed only with trailer park sangria -white wine, Crystal Light and a Fruit Roll Up-) spent my evening watching Craig Ferguson until the pre-show started. Sexy no?

The fashion on the red carpet was all about metallics, giant draping, corset bodices, flowery applique (not kidding SJP was adorned in posy embellishment along with Sandra Bullock) and Gabourey Sidibe stating: “If fashion was porn, my dress would be the money shot.”

The highlight of the show was watching Sandra Bullock’s acceptance speech. She won gracefully and even mentioned her fictitious rivalry with Meryl Streep. She also mentioned what a good kisser Streep is in reference to their kiss at the Critics Choice Awards (video below).

There was also a “Kayne Moment” during the award for Best Documentary. Elinor Burkett wrestled the microphone away from director-producer Roger Ross Williams after their film, “Music by Prudence,” won. Why? Apparently the two have had a huge rift over the film. Burkett claims that she came up with idea for the short, was robbed of creative control and dropped out of the project after the direction of the short focused on one person (Prudence) instead of the entire band. Williams claims he brought the documentary to life.

“The truth is that she saw the band perform [in Zimbabwe], and told me about that, and then I opened up a dialogue with the [King George VI School & Centre for Children with Physical Disabilities] school and went on my own – which you would’ve heard about in my speech — and spent $6,000 going to Africa shooting myself. And when people expressed interest in the film, I asked her to come on board. And then I regretted that decision. Then she sued.”

The lawsuit was settle in small claims and despite dropping out of the film, Burkett qualified to be a producer and thus a nominee. She then rushed to the stage to interrupt Williams’ speech. It was never discussed as to who would accept the award, but she claims he won’t speak to her. His view on the acceptance speech crashing…

“That was handled by the publicist for the academy. I don’t know what they told her. The academy is very clear that only one person can speak. I own the film. She has no claim whatsoever. She has nothing to do with the movie. She just ambushed me. I was sort of in shock.”

Sean Penn Hopes for Rectal Cancer Plauge

A clearly angry Sean Penn has strong words for the critics of his Haiti mission who thinks he is showing off by saying he hopes they die “screaming of rectal cancer.” In an interview to air on CBS’ “Sunday Morning” this weekend, Penn told journalist Lara Logan that he has been so busy in Haiti he hasn’t had much time for his critics, but he did offer up a few choice words.

Per Starpulse:

“Do I hope that those people die screaming of rectal cancer? Yeah. You know, but I’m not going to spend a lot of energy on it.”

Penn can’t believe his actions have upset so many people – and he’s disturbed that his critics can’t just see the good in what he’s trying to do in Haiti, where he was accompanied by doctors and a U.S. businesswoman with whom he helped establish a private relief organization. He also has brought water filters for distribution to villages and met with aid groups. Penn was in Haiti for a second time, having visited the quake-torn country in January with a suitcase of cash in tow. The actor helped aid workers purchase new X-ray machines and ventilators.

What a complete waste of a great effort. Just because he was willing to be interviewed says so much about his purpose in going to Haiti. When someone is sincere in charity efforts they stay away from the cameras. No matter what he’s done he flushed any goodwill with normal people by this statement. Good work, Sean, now you got the attention you went down there for.

New Music Friday – Right The Stars

Expressing the complexities of human emotions mixed with transcendent pop rhythms all his own is what singer/songwriter Rich Jacques does best through “Right The Stars,” the band name under which he records and performs. He grew up in Wisconsin, seeing California on TV and wondering why he was living in the freezing cold. In 2000, Jacques moved to Los Angeles and decided to take a break from music, only to end up right back with what he loves most but in a different form. He became a music teacher, taking on students young and old, one of which was Ben Affleck.

Two years later, he returned to the stage with Chantal Kreviazuk, a singer/songwriter with whom he toured and opened for Jason Mraz and appeared in The Tonight Show and the Craig Kilborn Show. Eager to expand his relationship with music, he made the move to production in 2006 and has since collaborated with artists like Kina Grannis, Rob Giles and Joey Fatone in his Hollywood studio, The White Room. Today, Jacques produces music for artists as well as TV and film and is releasing a self-titled album as Right The Stars. The CD includes unpretentious tunes and totally relatable realizations (she could not be anybody different and I could never change the way I am, – “Let Go of Her Hand”) as well as heartbreaking personal confessions (and I don’t know the reason but then pleasin’ people’s all I really know, – “South Indian Monkey Trap”). His songs range from the deep and intricate “Making Deals with God” to the frustration of a relationship in “Time”, a title featured in the movie “The Break Up,” and the simple, playful and upbeat “We Got It All”, written for movie “Couples Retreat.”

Right The Stars songs have found their way onto a number of TV shows and movies. Recently, they were heard on “One Tree Hill” and will soon be heard in the new Brooke Shields and Brendan Frasier movie called “Furry Vengeance.” You can listen to the song “We Got It All” above.

Last week, US Weekly reported that Mary Kate Olsen broke up with her artist boyfriend Nate-Never heard of him next!-Lowman.

Though it seems the couple, who had been together for a little over a year, had been apart for a while, now gossip hounds everywhere are saying that Mary Kate is ‘devastated’ by her loss.

I find this hard to believe. MK has more money than all of us put together thanks to straight to dvd movies, kitschy tank tops and . And, despite people telling you love is the answer, money can get you just about anything, including super hot lovers. In Olsen’s instance, sources say she’s trying to fill the void in her life with Josh Hartnett and, gasp! Samantha Ronson.

“Mary-Kate thinks Sam is very cool, and Sam thinks likewise.”

The two, whose flirty relationship raised eyebrows in 2008, had an especially memorable evening after Sam’s sister Charlotte’s fashion show in NYC on Feb. 12, adds the insider.

“Mary-Kate was incredibly upset about ending it with Nate, but now she’s getting over it.”

Is it wrong that I am totally hoping this is true just so I can bear witness to Lindsay Lohan’s freak-out?!? Seriously, we haven’t had a decent coked-out werewolf Lohan sighting in ages.

Eclipse Movie Posters

So I got an email (more like sparkle covered squee-mail from a Twihard) with a supposed leak of the first Eclipse movie poster. The poster supposedly came from “one of my friends who works for a company working on the Twilight movies here in Vancouver.”

It screams fake and looks super fan made. But, being that is it Friday and this sort of thing amuses me I found the temptation too much. Enjoy the first Twilight Saga: Eclipse poster in all its photoshopped glory. I also included some other fan made creations for your enjoyment.

I am not sure who the stranger batch above the title is supposed to be. Bald Kristen Stewart?

Completely ‘Lost’: Exclusive Update and HUGE Spoilers

SPOILER ALERT!!!!! If you do not wish to know some juicy ‘Lost’ tid-bits then STOP READING NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hooked you didn’t I? You don’t want to read this. You want to be ‘surprised.’ But you can’t take it anymore, can you? It’s the final season of ‘Lost’ and you want answers faster than Carleton Cuse and Damon Lideloff and willing to give them.

Me too!!!

Spoiler #1: Hold onto your tank-top….Michelle Rodriguez is coming back. Michael Ausiello over at Entertainment Weekly announced this morning that Rodriguez will reprise her role as the shot-dead-in-the-hatch Ana Lucia. Gross.

We haven’t seen Rodriguez (who was killed at the end of Season 2) since she appeared to Hurley in Season 5. It was a glorious time off, no? Really. I can’t stand her. She’s totally the reason I refuse to see “Avatar.”

Spoiler #2: Though I cannot reveal my source (hello, ‘Shadow S’), I can reveal EXCLUSIVELY that we are going to see a backstory to Jacob and the Man-In-Black (MIB). ‘West Wing’ alum Allison Janney, will appear as Jacob and MIB’s ‘mother.’

My source revealed that we will see “fashbacks” to the year 23 AD when Jacob and MIB are children. Janney, who it seems is not technically either’s mother, takes the children to the island for safety reasons.

We also will see a flash of our Yin and Yang as adults in the year 42 AD (these numbers ring a bell, no?).

My source alluded that we will see what happens between Jacob and MIB that turn them from best of friends to (im)mortal enemies.

SPOILER #3: The same source revealed to me EXCLUSIVELY that the boy we saw UnLocke chasing through the jungle (remember, the super creepy one with blood all over his hands?) is in fact young Jacob. However, it is not known why he appeared as a child (other than to establish the character for flashback purposes).

Unfortunately, my source could not reveal when these episodes will actually appear. We have only 10 episodes left before our finale May 23.

Lady Gaga and Britney Spears Duet

Turns out the Lady is Gaga about Britney Spears! Lady Gaga’s father arranged for her to duet with Spears while she was in the bathroom at the Grammy Awards. And thanks to that conversation, we may soon be hearing these two powerhouses collide as soon as Lady’s Monster Ball tour wraps up. Gaga originally penned the song “Telephone” for Spears but she never used it on an album so Beyonce and Lady Gaga released it on their own.

Per Star:

“I wrote it for her a long time ago, and she just didn’t use it,” Gaga says. “It’s fine because I love the song, and it’s exciting I get to perform it now.”

Spears is no stranger to collaborating with music’s biggest stars. Lady Gaga has already shared duets with Elton John, Beyonce, The Pet Shop Boys and Madonna. Who knows what they could come up with together – Lady Gaga and Britney could be something special.
