Robyn Reveals 2010 Album Plans, Calling All Fan Reaction Videos To “None of Dem”

After the huge success of her self-titled release (platinum UK) featuring international #1 smash single “With Every Heartbeat” and top 10 hit “Be Mine” in 2007, Robyn is back with her killer combination of natural pop nous and cool sassiness. Due to an abundance of great songs bursting to get out, 2010 will see her unleash not one, not two but three albums. The first, “Body Talk PT 1,” will be released on June 15th, and fans can expect an exciting mix of cool electronica, heartfelt pop, and tracks that have all the hallmarks of becoming classic hits.

Robyn explains: “I got all these great songs so why not? It’s been 5 years since “Robyn” and I didn’t want to wait with a release until they are all recorded, so I decided to start putting them out right away. I also can’t wait to play live again and this enables me to tour and record at the same time. I just want to keep making music.”

She has worked with the hottest producers around to make these ambitious plans a reality. Diplo, Royksopp, Kleerup and Klas Ahlund (amongst others) are all on board. Robyn wants to see her fans’ reactions to “None of Dem” which just premiered on her site, so head over to Robyn.com and get your web cam rolling as you listen to the track for the first time. David Hasselhoff Returns To ‘The Young & The Restless’

Talk about a blast from the past! American’s favorite drunk cheeseburger eater David Hasselhoff is set to reprise his role as Dr. William “Snapper” Foster, Jr. on CBS’s “The Young And The Restless” after a nearly 30-year hiatus.

Per EW:

“In 1976, Bill Bell, creator of America’s No. 1 soap opera, took a chance on a young and very green actor,” Hasselhoff said in a statement given exclusively to EW.com. “Playing Snapper in 850 shows during the six years I appeared molded my craft, my attitude and my work ethic. Being asked to come back to appear in several episodes gives me a chance to say thanks, as I have an amazing amount of respect and heartfelt emotion for Bill, his family and my time on Young and the Restless. I just hope I can remember all those lines.”

Hasselhoff will return to the “Y&R” set in May for what’s being called a “brief run,” with his episodes set to begin airing in mid-June. He first appeared on the daytime soap in 1975 and thrilled housewives daily until 1982 when Snapper supposedly left to accept a three-month fellowship in London to teach.

I smell desperation. Hopefully there is a rider in his contract for unlimited cheeseburgers to be delivered to him during the filming.

Britney Spears Beat Up Jason Trawick

britney-spears-and-jason-trawick

According to a shocking new report, Britney Spears has been smacking the crap outta boyfriend Jason Trawick! A very obviously peeved Britney was seen by X17 to be involved in a more than heated argument in her car Jason, resulting in her slapping Jason at least 5-6 times in the head and across the face.

Per Celebitchy:

“Britney walked into Barneys hopping mad, and wanted Jason to buy her almost everything she saw,” said the insider. “Even worse, she treated Jason like a servant in front of the store’s staff, and he got increasingly irritated.”

When Jason told Britney that they had to head home, she blew up, said the source.

“She started cursing him and threatened to end his career,” said the source.

“Jason quickly led Britney out of the store and she got behind the wheel of her car, a white Mercedes SUV. She started screaming at the top of her lungs, and as she drove off, she started to slap, hit and punch Jason.”

When she finally stopped pummeling him, a stunned Jason announced that he was quitting his job as her minder, said the source.

Normally I’d laugh this off, but given Britney’s actions over the past few years, its sadly believable. I will give Brit the upper hand but only because I am a fan of second chances…..and common sense…..and Cheetos.

New Music Friday – Palmdale

Palmdale is the “nom de rock” adopted by Kay Hanley & Linus Of Hollywood as they embarked on a new song writing venture in the summer of 2009. Kay Hanley is the former lead singer of Boston alt-pop band, Letters To Cleo. Since the band’s split in 2000, Kay has released 3 solo recordings and has provided songs and vocals for many film & TV projects, including Josie & The Pussycats, and toured as a back-up vocalist with Hannah Montana. Multi-instrumentalist Linus Of Hollywood has an eclectic resume that began as the frontman for the influential pop/punk band Size 14. Since then, Linus has released 5 solo albums, started two labels (Franklin Castle and Crappy Records) and has built a career as producer/songwriter, working with a diverse roster of artists (Bowling For Soup, Puff Daddy, Charlatans UK and Cheap Trick to name a few).

Long time fans of one another’s work, Linus + Kay became acquainted while active participants in Los Angeles’ thriving music community and decided to combine forces. Originally, their collaboration was intended to produce pop songs that other artists would record, but that idea was quickly scrapped when the music began to take on a cohesive sound and depth. They kept the material for themselves, tweaked the focus and continued writing. They recorded the songs in fall/winter of 2009 as Palmdale. You can watch their video for “Here Comes The Summer” above.

Jenny McCarthy Molested By Steven Seagal

And the list grows longer…

fat-tigerjenny-mccarthy-short-bob

Last week a former employee of Steven Seagal filed a lawsuit against the former action star accusing him of various sexual offenses (click HERE for a refresher).

Turns out this chick may not be crazy.

Apparently, former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy revealed to Movieline Magazine way back in 1998 that she had a similar encounter with the pony-tailed tiger.

Via CBS News:

“I go inside his (Seagal’s) office, which has shag carpet and this huge couch, and he’s by himself and says, ‘Sit on my couch.’” She continued, “[He says] ‘So, you were Playmate of the Year?’”

“Then he said: ‘take off your dress,’” McCarthy continued. “I just started crying and said: ‘Rent my Playboy video, you a*****e!’ and ran out to the car.”

When reached for comment, McCarthy’s people confirmed that she made the statements but did not wish to comment further.

Ryan Seacrest Keeps ‘Idol’ Contestant from Quitting:
Overwhelmed by the stress and pressure of being on ‘American Idol,’ contestant Crystal Bowersox threatened to walk off the show. ‘Idol’ host Ryan Seacrest stepped in and had a quick heart-to-heart with her in the show’s parking lot, TMZ reports. Sources claim Bowersox told him she couldn’t handle the competition and didn’t like all the media attention and threatened to move back to Ohio to be with her family. Luckily, Seacrest convinced the ‘Idol’ hopeful to stick it out. He pushed the fact that if she won she’d get a recording contract and become a millionaire. Guess that was enough to make her stay.

School’s Out: Zac Efron to Play Drug Smuggler
:
‘High School Musical’ star Zac Efron is abandoning his squeaky-clean image to tackle the role of a cocaine smuggler in Warner Bros.’ upcoming film ‘Snabba.’ The Disney heartthrob has snagged the lead role and a producer credit on the remake of Swedish thriller ‘Snabba Cash.’ Efron has made a name for himself as a clean-living teen idol, with starring roles in family fare like the ‘High School Musical’ trilogy, ’17 Again’ and ‘Hairspray,’ but like many child stars before him, he’s ready to break free from the cookie-cutter mold.
