Summit was hasn’t had an easy road filled with butterflies and rainbows when it has come to making the Twilight saga. When word spread that the books were being turned into movies and Robert Pattinson was cast as Edward Cullen, fans were unhappy with the choice. Of course we all know Sparklepants now rules the Twihards and heals the blind simply by running a hand through his unicorn mane.
It appears that there might be more casting drama. Summit is having trouble reaching deals with select members of the cast. Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene might be recast. Kellan, who plays Emmet Cullen, and Ashley, scored the role of Alice Cullen, are holding out for bigger paychecks.
“Deals for Peter Facinelli (who plays Carlisle Cullen) and Billy Burke (Bella’s father, Charlie Swan) are done, but we’re told the actors who play the Cullen kids (especially Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene) are trying to sink their teeth into bigger paydays that, at least at this point, the studio behind the billion-dollar franchise is unwilling to provide. “We may have a situation where one of them is thrown out on the street to make a point,” says a source close to the deal-making.”
Could this be a more of a promise than a threat? Absolutely. Summit hasn’t been shy when it comes cast changes…
-The role of Jacob Black was up for grabs after concerns that Taylor Lautner would not be able to carry the transformation from normal 15 year old to a 6’7” tall, muscle bulging man within the time between ‘Twilight’ and ‘New Moon.’ After months of living at a gym, Lautner kept the role. -The role of Victoria also changed after ‘New Moon’ was filmed. Rachelle Lefevre was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard. Summit cited scheduling conflicts whereas Rachelle felt differently. She admitted to being “stunned” that she was replaced over a ten day overlap. Eyebrows raised and rumors spread that Summit wanted a bigger name for the villain role and tapped Bryce for the job and Lefevre’s agents were demanding big money.
Lutz and Greene are continually growing in the popularity chart as both have become household names. Both feel that they can command a bigger slice of the Twilight profit.
“We’re told that the offers from Summit — which are said to be at least 10 times what the actors made on the first movie — were deemed “offensive” given the mega-money the franchise has generated.”
The price tag for making ‘Breaking Dawn‘ is a concern. While the author, Stephenie Meyer, has signed off on the book being broken into two films, it’s not an official and done deal. However, insiders say they would be “shocked” if it was put out as one film. Summit is also entertaining the idea of filming in Louisiana to save on costs. A deal is currently being worked out and the state is eager to have the bragging rights and lure for Twihards which would equal a huge profit.
At this point contracts have already been inked for the three main characters played by Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner so Summit has the upper hand.

First kellan and Ashley are far from househlod names. Summit should just fire the two famewhores and add that extra money to the production value.
I disagree with Lola, replacing either one of them would be a disappointment to the audience. Both of them have become a important part of the Twilight saga family.
I think that would really suck if they replace them! Especially Ashley Green. She’s one of my favorites! I hope they can come to an agreement.
No no no no. No one else could take the place of either of these actors. PAY THEM! Fans would be furious and it could cost $$$ in the end. This is the end of the series, albeit a huge ending, but the fan base expects the cast to remain as it has.

frankly, i don’t care if the roles of Emmett and Alice had to have a recast ~ what they really should change is the casting of Edward and Bella ~ that’s the two who make the movies suck ~
Summit made over 1 billion dollars for Twilight movies so far. They should pay and move on. No recasting! It wouldn’t be the same. Stop being greedy Summit!
Summit should NOT fire either of them! It would be a disappointment to the audience. Their aint any one out there who could be a better Alice or Emmett! And call me stupid….but honestly, I would cry if Emmett was recasted…
Kellan does a great job and should keep his job. Maybe they do want a little more money…because their not in a lot of Breaking Dawn at the beginning, and if its split into two movies, they wont make as much money. Come on guys! Just find an agreement…for the sake of the fans?
Hey everyone, I honestly do like Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz, and who is to say that they don’t deserve a bigger pay cheak. It just depends, so, they are definantly not payed as much robert, Kirstin and Taylor, but would they really be as greedy as to risk their jobs for such a high raise in their salary? Summit obviously isn’t afraid to recast…so, whats up?
i absolutely and utterly cant stand it they cant replace anyone noone other than alice is good enough for jasper lolz and pretty much everyone well on the movie is my favourite but still they cant be recasted
No, they can’t replace these two. They are integral. Especially Ashley Green! She is the perfect Alice! It wouldn’t be the same without them. I agree that Summit is making a huge profit and they are part of the success and should be paid. I’m sure they made very little on the first movie compared to what Summit is making. Give them what they are asking they deserve it!
I’m getting really tired of summit’s recasting first they wanted to recast taylor then they went ahead and recasted victoria and know they want to do it agian!!!! Summit should shut it and give them the money,there acting like money whores!! Lutz and ashley are much a part of Twilight as edward and bella, if they recast it won’t be worth watching the movie…they will loose big time…all I see in summit’s feature is a big mess on there… oh btw isn’t summit the one that is doing the new spider-man movie when everyone one was epecting a fourth instalment but there started from the beging? :S

It would be a HUGE mistake for Summit to not come to an agreement. “Alice”, played by Ashley is a very key component in this film. She links Bella and Edward together. Kellen is simply eye candy and has a certain dopey lovability about that you cannot replace this late in the series. I would be disappointed and you know what? Stephenie Meyer’s should put her foot down on the series and preserve the characters! Wow…final chapter and they want to pull the rug out from under the audiences feet as if this is a sitcom! LOL Nice!
