Christina Aguilera’s Bionic Album Failure

Christina Aguilera pumped out another album that is desperately trying to push the envelope. However, her recipe for success (beige nude spray paint, red lipstick, a strap on and a bevy of latex adorned back up dancers) is no longer working. Sales for “Bionic” are dismal and barely hit 200,000 after 5 weeks on the charts.

Now that Lady Gaga and Rihanna are on the scene and bringing a new “avant-garde” shock value to the industry, her old tricks are tired. Despite donning her busted bondage gear and making out with other women for her video for ho anthem “Not Myself Tonight,” her record label (RCA) is reportedly in “rescue mode.”

Via Page Six:

“In the four-year lag since her last album, “Back to Basics,” Aguilera has had a child, Max. Now, a source said, she “wants to compete with her peers, but there is a disconnect because, over the years, she’s been a mother and a wife, not a rocker.”

Plus, said insiders, Aguilera has not been willing to adapt. “The label has done its part, but she’s headstrong. There have been candid conversations between her and the label about connectivity, but it doesn’t seem that she’s been open to that dialogue.”

Reps are all giggling nervously and looking shifty-eyed while they deny any trouble with sales despite the canceled tour (click HERE to read about the axed Bionic tour due to poor ticket sales) and the low album sales.

“An RCA rep denies any panic, saying Aguilera ‘is a pillar of the RCA Music Group and is an undeniable talent with one of the greatest voices of our time. She continues to push herself as an artist, and we are behind her efforts 100 percent.’

Her manager, Irving Azoff, added, “I am the one who deals with the label, and this couldn’t be further from the truth.”

Personally, I think it has nothing to do with Christina entering motherhood. A woman can have a child and not lose herself as a person. No, it’s not the baby factor. It’s the one trick pony factor.

A few people buy diamonds. Most of them buy candies coz it’s Cheap. just A few buys the quality, most consume GARBAGE.They don’t knowe how the music should sound. She is one of the greatest vocalist, I must confest. Her music is much deeper n more worthed than GAGA, Britney, Madona. However I hate when she has to act as bad girl when singing. It’s now rare to see an artist with a good girl image. And we miz that.

She’s one of the only ones that can do a great job. It doesn’t matter if her latest album isn’t selling well.
I just think her job gets much more interesting when it is personal like stripped and back to basics.
Whatever, burlesque soundtrack seems to be more interesting than bionic, but i must say i’ve already bought my bionic. (btw, 2 copies :D )

Yes being a singer Aguilera has a great voice but no need to put Madonna down who not only sings she writes music and plays 4 instruments and most artists copy from Madonna.Christina can’t always be up most singers albums don’t always top the charts even when the material is really worth listening to,try telling a bunch of teens that some music is really worth listening to and they prefer the popular artist that repeat themselves in all their songs.I know Christina songs have more meaning than just the same lyrics over and over but I agree with this article for her to be more like Christina not reinventing this Marilyn Monroe look that’s not working anymore.I look at Hollywood right now and where is the originality in all these actress and singers? the majority have the bleach blonde hair, fake boobs, red lipstick, let’s make out with girls or the plastic surgery, sex tape drama look and it’s old news.
