GUN SHOW: James Marsden Shirtless – PHOTOS

It’s been awhile since we had a good old fashion Gun Show. James Marsden has come to the rescue. He is one actor I deem underrated. Perhaps he should try more shirtlessness.

Here are some of Hollywood Dame’s other Gun Shows: Nick Jonas, Hugh Jackman, Taylor Lautner, Kellan Lutz or CLICK HERE FOR MORE.

Sean Penn in Drag – PHOTOS

I would love to write all about Sean Penn and his love of dressing as Miss Terry Box and moonlighting as the queen who works the bar at Oil Can Harry’s. (Holla at my Texans.) Too bad this Sean Penn in drag mess is for a movie and he isn’t supposed to be a tranny from Yonkers.

Penn is playing a grampy rock star named Cheyenne in ‘This Must Be The Place.’ It centers around his quest to find his dying father’s persecutor, an ex-Nazi war criminal. (Don’t get too excited Jesse James.)

Hollywood Dame Exclusive Interview – Burnham

Alex, Andre and Forrest Burnham have been performing together for seven years, which is pretty remarkable because the three brothers from Vermont are, respectively, just 18, 16 and 14. Early on Burnham took over their family living room and converted it into a jam space where they honed their skills playing for four to five hours a day. “When we plug in and start playing, we lose all sense of time.”

After almost five years of performing live, a friend hooked them up with NY based producers, Andy Marvel and Freddy Shehadi, who set-up several showcases with various major record labels. Apparently, the record execs saw what everyone else was seeing; a young band oozing with talent and a front man with an unmistakable and powerful voice. With two major record deals on the table, the boys did one final showcase in New York for Island Def Jam chairman and CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid. The veteran record exec wouldn’t let the band leave the room until he signed them, not even after youngest member Forrest beat him at pool. “I happened to be on my game that day both vocally and with a pool cue,” says Forrest with a smirk. High-spirited and confident, Forrest fronts the band as vocalist, with older siblings Alex on guitar and Andre playing bass and keyboards.

The three brothers got the performing gene from their mom, a UCLA music major who studied opera, and their love of rock from their dad, who shared his record collection with his boys on a nightly basis.

Burnham has crafted a debut album filled with catchy rock/pop anthems. It features songs like Tedder’s “Catch Me If You Can,” the Espionage-produced “Look Like Her” (“I have been waiting all my life/for someone to come and put things right”), “Thank You,” a collaboration with producer/songwriter Kennedy, and the power ballad by Burnham that helped get them signed, “Slow Dance.”

Their Island Def Jam debut album represents their first time co-writing with such established producers as OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, Brian Kennedy (Chris Brown, Rihanna, Backstreet Boys, Jesse McCartney), the N.Y.-based Norwegian production team Espionage of Espen Lind and Amund Bjorklund (Train’s “Hey, Soul Sister” and Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable”), and James Bourne of Busted (“Year 3000”).

“We started writing our own songs about three years ago,” says Andre. “But collaborating with these great producers has allowed us to take our song writing skills to another level.”

The boys started out by learning to play their instruments at a local music school in Vermont. At the time the two older boys joined the ensemble, there were no singers. Andre said, “Forrest will do it,” and the rest is history. “It was either this, or go play in the sandbox,” he jokes about joining his older brothers in the band. “I’m very competitive, but most of the time I’m joking and being sarcastic. From what I can tell, they don’t mind me getting a lot of the attention. In fact, they’re cool about it. They know their place,” Forrest says laughingly…”But seriously, we’re all equal.”

With Forrest in front, the band boasts brotherly three-part harmonies and indelible hooks, lacing them with lyrics that are universal and ageless… romance, betrayal, young love and, well, girls. “I never actually believed they had cooties, but up until a few years ago, I used to think that they should have their side and we should have ours…but now I’m a BIG fan,” says Forrest, whose vocal heroes include U2’s Bono, Coldplay’s Chris Martin, and The Killer’s Brandon Flowers.

“Our music has hooks and choruses that people can sing along with,” adds Alex. And while their initial audience is most likely teenage girls, Andre is quick to point out, “The Beatles’ fans were teenage girls when they first started out… Just give us another 40 years.”

“We definitely set goals for ourselves,” says Forrest. “One of them was to get a record deal and we’ve done that. Now our goal is to make great music that is timeless and to reach as many people as we can.”

With their good-natured sibling rivalry, each of the three Burnhams bring something a little different to the table. Alex is the designated riff-meister and Forrest is great at finding melodies, while Andre, also known as M.D.(music director), organizes the rehearsals and comes up with lyrical ideas.

“Everyone in the band does a bit of everything,” adds Forrest.

“When we first started playing, it was for fun,” says Alex. “And now it has developed into an insane amount of fun.” “We’re normal kids doing things that all kids do. We just happen to have a record deal,” says Andre. With the release of their debut album, Burnham is ready to take the next step. It certainly won’t be the last.

I had the chance to speak with Burnham about their music, whether they’ve ever felt like giving up, and how they balance music with their everyday lives. You can read about that below.

When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?

Andre: I think being home schooled and my parents making it a part of the curriculum, saying that we were going to have a music class and each pick an instrument and play and it just went from there.

What drives and inspires you to do what you love?

Forrest: I think having great family and great people working with you is what drives us. It inspires us to do what we love.

Alex: Just having fun doing it. That’s the key in music is just to make sure you’re having fun.

Forrest: My motto is to have a great time all of the time.

How do you balance a career in music while going to school and still trying to be kids?

Forrest: Having a good balance is the way to to it. I think when we’re in Vermont, we can act like kids. But when we’re everywhere else, we have to act like adults and musicians.

Alex: And he’s obviously joking on that. But when we’re traveling, and we stop somewhere like Louisiana, just getting out the wiffle ball in the parking lot and having fun. But we try to fit in school whenever we can. Like, if you have a three hour break then you fill that up with schoolwork and do some catching up.

Andre: We’ve been lucky and it’s been summer lately so we’ve been pretty much on the go, but school will be starting up again soon.

Do you find it easy to play and sing? Does it come naturally for you?

Forrest: I find it hard to play and sing at the time.

Alex: Well, Andre and I have been doing this for 8 years now, and Forrest 6 years. It was hard at first, but it’s so much fun now.

Forrest: Practice Practice Practice!

Besides music, what are some of your favorite things to do?

Forrest: I love sports. Hockey is my favorite.

Andre: I love sports too, but I also like playing games and going outside and hanging out with my brothers, goofing off. I’m also a huge Monty Python and Saturday Night Live Fan.

Alex: I like getting out on the field and playing football. I like to play other peoples music, too, like playing their guitar solo. Just watching movies, playing games, hanging out with friends.

If you had the chance to work or record with anyone, who would you choose?

Forrest: U2. They are my favorite band. I love their music. It inspires me to do what I’m doing.

Alex: The Killers and Brendon Flowers.

Andre: I’m a huge Beatles fan so I’d say Paul McCartney. I know that’s dreaming big but hey, you gotta dream big!

How would you describe the sound of your music?

Alex: I’d say a rock/pop sort of vibe with hard roots. A blend of a bunch of things.

How do you feel that you’re different from other artists in your genre?

Forrest: We’re different people doing different things.

Alex: Every band has their own sound. It just happens naturally. Everyone is just crafting their own sound.

What are some of your long-term and short-term goals you have lined out for yourself?

Andre: Well long term, we were just talking about this. It would be awesome to be in the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, but you have to play for like, 25 years. But it’s a goal of ours. Short term would be to get our single out and make it number one.

Forrest: Having our own tour and being the headliners would be great.

Was there ever a time you felt like giving up on your way to where you are now?

Andre: No, I don’t think we have. It’s what we love to do. A lot of people are out doing things like playing basketball, and and we are too, but music is what stuck with us.

Alex: Of course there has been hard times and there have been things that were tough but we’ve never wanted to give up. It’s not what we do.

Burnham’s first single, “Catch Me If You Can,” is available now on iTunes. Catch Andre, Alex and Forrest this fall opening for Justin Bieber on the My World tour, and all summer on the Teen Island Summer Fan Fest Tour. Their Island Def Jam debut is due out later this year.

Hollywood Dame Exclusive Interview – Benny Marchant

Benny Marchant is a dynamic young singer-songwriter who has entrenched himself in the Los Angeles music scene with a sophisticated, contemporary vibe that speaks to young and old alike about love, loss, journey and victory. Marchant has slowly and steadily built a reputation amongst tastemakers and music fanatics alike by crafting songs that speak to the heart and the ears.

Marchant is currently in the studio along side Grammy winner Joe Chicarelli who has worked with the likes of Radiohead, White Stripes, and Counting Crows.

Marchant has just released his debut music video for “Conversations Missed.” The track will appear on Marchant’s debut album, “Cold Weather,” which is expected to be released late summer 2010. Watch “Conversations Missed” above and visit www.OfficialBennyMarchant.com for all the latest news!

I had the chance to talk with Benny about his interest in music, what inspires him, and the feelings he hopes his fans will have listening to his upcoming album. You can read about that below.

When did you first realize you had an interest in music, and what sparked that interest?

I think I was a Junior in highschool when I found my first guitar. I picked it up and I wasn’t very good at it. I would write songs with one string.

How would you describe the sound of your music, and how do you feel your music is different from others in your genre?

It’s very versatile. It’s dark and melancholy but yet its peaceful and uplifting.

How did you break into the music industry?

Through the studio, not through my performances to start. In the beginning I just started writing and recording. I seriously got into music my senior year in college after I joined a band and started playing base. Once I came to LA and started recording in the studio I was lucky enough to come across a couple of guys who were really interested in what I was doing and it just went from there.

What are some of your short term and long term goals?

Short term would be promoting "Cold Weather" which will most likely be released in January. Really getting gigs going again. We just did auditions for the band and getting that all set up and it sounds amazing. Long term would be to keep doing this the rest of my life.

Was there ever a time where you felt like giving up music or quitting on your way to where you are now?

Ya know, never. Even with ‘Kings Royal’ – the band I was in before – was in such disarray with people walking away because of other commitments. It hurt, but I just kept writing because it was so important to me and I wanted people to hear it, so no.

What do you miss most, besides family and friends, when you are out traveling?

My dog (laughs.) And playing World of Warcraft because the internet on the bus is not fast!

Besides music, what are some of your hobbies?

Well, we covered the World of Warcraft. Playing lacrosse and keeping up with it and what’s going on. I also love going to see the Dodgers and Padres games.

What drives you the most to do what you love? What inspires you?

I’ve just been in love with music my whole life even when I never thought for a split second that it would be something that I would do. I’ve just always been into it and love being a part of it. It makes me happy.

What sort of feelings do you hope your fans will have from listening to your upcoming album?

I just hope they get 10% of what I felt writing this music. I hope they love it. There was a lot of personal stuff for me going on while I was doing it and writing it. I hope they can interpret it for themselves and it becomes a part of their lives for sure.

Brad Pitt, The Death Penalty and BP

It sounds like the beginning of a fairy tale in which someone will learn a valuable lesson after some ho with blond hair gets eaten or chased by bears. Well, in this tale, Brad Pitt uses the death penalty to condemn BP.

Spike Lee is doing another documentary about New Orleans and of course he tapped the infinite wisdom of Brad Pitt and expert skillz.

Via Huffington Post:

“Reflecting on those responsible for the oil spill, Pitt can barely contain his contempt.
‘I was never for the death penalty before,’ he says. ‘I am willing to look at it again.’

I can understand his anger, frustration and disappointment. However, I hardly feel bad for him being that he probably hopped on a private jet to ride home to his motorcycles and army of SUV’s while putting disposable diapers (made with petroleum) on his army of children, as they color with crayons (also made with petroleum) as Angelina cakes on enough makeup and lipstick (again petroleum) to look human.

Joe Jonas and Ashley Greene Kissing – PHOTOS

Here we have Eyebrows awkwardly smooching his hired beard Ashley Greene in SoHo. Joe Jonas and Greene were photographed kissing just days after indulging in a baseball game at Coney Island. (Click HERE for those photos.) I stick by my assertion that this is in awkward pairing. Isn’t Ashley the trick who has nude photos of herself floating around on the net? (Yep, click HERE for those.) And isn’t Joe the Fairy Prince of Virginity?

I look forward to your letters.

‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows’ Screening Info

I continue to squee as more Harry Potter film news bleeds onto the net. A screening for the first installment of the last Harry Potter film took place in Chicago. Details were shared by a gracious and obscenely lucky Potter fan. (Click HERE for HP7 movie stills…)

SPOILER ALERT

The movie goer reported that the actors “give their best performances to date; practically disappearing into their characters.” The film seems to give more details on how Ron, Harry and Hermione prepare for the journey ahead as the film starts Rufus Scrimgeour promising the wizarding world to do it’s best to survive the return of Voldemort.

The scene I have been hungry to see shows members of the Order of the Phoenix transform into Harry Potters to throw off the looming Death Eaters who are awaiting to ambush Harry as he leaves the safety of the Dursley’s home. The report sounds fantastic!

Via The Leaky Cauldron:

“ The Seven Potters scene was nearly complete in this cut. The transformation takes place in a single 360 degree camera shot, with each character transforming into Harry in their own unique way. Fred and George shrink about a foot, Mundungus grows about a foot, and Fleur gets Harry’s eyebrows as the first thing on her body to change. When the Seven Potters are waking around the room in their original character’s clothes, they are distinguished by their original voices and mannerisms. They then strip to change into Harry’s outfit. The production went all out here- even having Fluer’s Harry take off a white, lacy bra in order to change clothes. Once in the air, we see the Death Eaters dive on the Order like bats, swooping in casting spells and curses. Death Eaters take Harry and Hagrid on a chase down the highway, diving in between cars, and even doing a flip around a tunnel ceiling.”

The first death in this film takes place here as Harry, contrary to the book, lets Hedwig fly free. She returns to Harry in effort to help protect him and is hit with the Avada Kedavra curse which signals the real Harry to Voldemort and the first run in ensues.

The Weasly house is fully reconstructed which was another question that had I burning after the Half Blood Prince left it destroyed and in flames. Scrimgeour returns to read the will of Dumbledore. This is where Ginny and Harry share a brief kiss before being interrupted by George and his bandage ear. (He lost it during the Death Eater chase in case you weren’t up to date on the book.) Another battle ensues as Kinsley’s patronus appears and announces Rufus’ death and the Ministry being taken by Voldemort and his crew. Ron, Harry and Hermione escape as Lupin shows up to give the trio cover as they try to make it to Grimmauld place.

Dobby FINALLY returns! His character, in my opinion was far more important that directors assumed. I am glad to see his return. The reporter stated that the test audience cheered upon his arrival back on the screen.

“ The crowd cheered when Dobby appeared on screen, and was further endeared at the elf when he and Krecher vie for Harry’s attention. Mundungs’ information leads them to infiltrate the Ministry, which also is presented just as it was in the books. Umbridge, portrayed by Imelda Staunton, gets to recapture her former sinister self presiding over a courtroom with a swirl of Dememntors revolving overhead. The Ministry now seems to be operation to create forms of propaganda against Muggles, which are being produced in mass quantities (When Muggles Attack). They’ve also replaced the former statue in the atrium with a new totalitarian-themed creation, which is made up of jumble of twisted Muggles holding up wizards on a pedestal. “Muggles in their rightful place,” says Hermione.”

They continue through the ministry and make to Umbridge’s office. Moody’s eye is in the door to her office, but the reporter stated that it wasn’t clear whether or not Harry recovers it or not.

Remember those reports that Harry and Hermione get naked and played slap and tickle? Well, it appears to be TRUE. The lucky sneak preview reporter stated that camping scene involving the Horcrux features some odd twists…

“This part of the film shows the progression of Ron’s jealousy of Harry and Hermione’s friendship, spurred on by wearing the Horcrux. Rupert Grint plays this very well, storming out of the tent and into the winter, leaving Harry and Hermione unsure of how to go on. Following his exit, a scene not in the books remains one of the most touching and poignant: In an effort to cheer up a sullen Hermione, Harry removes the Horcrux from his neck, and shares an awkward high school prom-style dance with Hermione to the Nick Cave song, “O’Children.”

This awkwardness is then halted as Harry and Hermione go to Godric’s Hollow where they find Lily and James’ gravesite and Bathilda’s house. There is a run in with Voldemort’s snake, Nagini, which leaves Harry unconscious in the Forest of Dean with Hermione for several days. The scene was incomplete as CGI wasn’t finished.

Soon, Ron returns to save Harry and the nakedness rumored before ensues…

“This leads into, perhaps, the most thrilling and emotional part of the film: the Silver Doe. Rupert Grint’s performance is spectacular as he makes his return, pulling Harry from underneath the icy depths and destroying the Horcrux. After Harry opens the locket, a tornado of Voldemort’s dark soul rises above Ron, unleashing spiders on the ground and taunting him. In a very sensual turn, silvery porcelain visions of Riddle-Harry and Riddle-Hermione appear in the tornado and taunt Ron’s jealousy by sharing a long and intense kiss. In an effort not to truly represent the evil of Voldemort and the situation, the Riddle-Harry and Riddle-Hermione, in the swirling mass of the tornado, appear topless during the final seconds of their kiss before Ron swings Gryffindor’s sword down on the locket, destroying it.”

Harry, Ron and Hermione are reunited the final leg of this part of the final film comes to a close. They are captured and imprisoned at Malfoy Manor after more information is revealed as a 3 minute story of the three brothers and the Elder Wand rolls. Another stray from the book features Wormtail only being stunned and not killed by his the silver hand that Voldemort gave him. Dobby saves the trio after Bellatrix tortures Hermione and we are left with watching the Dark Lord break into Dumbledore’s tomb.

“Wormtail aside, Emma Watson’s shrieking as Bella’s character tortures her own (Bellatrix brands “mudblood” onto Hermione’s arm) still gives me chills. Bellatrix continues to be in top form when she uses her wand as a whip to take the sword from the low-rank Snatchers who captured the Trio. The Malfoy’s also get to show their complete desperation, with Lucius, drink in hand, talking a defeated Draco into identify Harry. Throughout this sequence the suspense builds until that final moment when the dagger is thrown by Bella and disapparates along with Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Dobby to Shell Cottage.

Hands down, one of the most emotional sequences of this film was Dobby dying in Harry’s arms on she shores of Shell Cottage. The burial of Dobby takes place on a bluff overlooking the sea. Harry digs the grave himself, and places the small House Elf in his resting place with Ron and Hermione. The final scene in the movie takes place at Hogwarts, on a small island just off the banks of the lake. Dumbledore’s tomb is cracked open by Voldemort, who looks into the blank face of Dumbledore before taking the wand from his grasp and firing a lightning bolt into the air.”

Yes, this is where the first of the two part film will end leaving Potter fans amped up for the second half of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” Currently the process of putting together the last film is in the beginning stages.

Are you ready? Accio November 19th!!!

‘Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader’ Clips- VIDEO

My geekdom stems beyond the Harry Potter realms. While reading the books as a child growing up in bungalow in Bora Bora (ok, fine a ranch in a small town in Indiana which worshiped an eight foot turtle), the Chronicles of Narnia was my first literary love.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” Narnia 3, will be in theaters on December 10th 2010. Until then enjoy 3 clips from the film that brings back Prince Caspian (played by the delicious yet quiet Ben Barnes), Edmund Pevensie (portrayed by a purveyor of impure thoughts that would likely land me in jail Skandar Keynes) and Lucy Pevensie (played by the adorable Georgie Henley). This time Peter and Susan sit out the adventure while their cousin Eustace gets schooled by Aslan.

Britney Spears Second Glee Episode ?!!

The first “Glee” episode featuring Britney Spears hasn’t aired yet, but plans for a return visit are being thrown around. The high school musical series is already brewing ideas for a second Britney Spears episode. (Click HERE for Britney’s Twitpics of filming at Glee.)

Filming for her first Glee appearance reportedly went very well. Ryan Murphy, one of the creators of Glee, vaguely confirmed that second Britney episode will be happening.

Access Hollywood asked point blank if she was going to be featured again and he answered with a breezy “Probably, yeah… probably.”

Word is that Spears’ first episode will center around some of the singers being under anesthesia at the dentist and experiencing Britney Spears hallucinations.

Jennifer Aniston Back With John Mayer?

Jennifer Aniston has been quite the busy woman this year, starring in a handful of films and not thinking before she speaks (read about that here.) But the one thing she hasn’t quite nailed down just yet is a man. She has been dating as we have all seen and witnessed, but there doesn’t seem to be that one man in her life that she wants to spend the rest of her life with.

… Enter John Mayer. Despite claims earlier this week that Aniston is dating a wealthy European banker, it now seems she has now hooked back up with her ex.

Per Now Magazine:

“John invited Jen to come out and meet him while he was in Manhattan. He told her he really wanted to see her and even paid for a private jet to fly her from LA. They spent hours in his hotel suite at the Four Seasons, ordering room service and drinking wine,” a source said.

We know what that means. No one goes to John Mayer’s suite for conversation. But will Jen fall for his tricks, only to be burned by him again?

“Jen’s been hurt by him before and isn’t prepared to go public with the relationship just yet.”

Aniston and Mayer first started dating in February 2008. The couple broke up in August, but they resumed the relationship in October before splitting again in March 2009. Mayer humiliated Aniston in 2008 when he publicly revealed he had dumped her because he didn’t ‘want to waste somebody’s time if something’s not right.’

Um, Good luck …. I guess? Third times the charm, right?
