Jennifer Lopez Has Ex Banned From Auditioning For ‘American Idol’

While rumors have already come across that she is a diva, some may look at this tidbit as another confirmation of it. Jennifer Lopez has banned ex-husband Ojani Noa from auditioning for “American Idol,” telling Fox not to let him anywhere near the auditions.

Per Radar Online:

“Jennifer got Fox to make sure that the screeners at the auditions would not let Ojani anywhere near the auditions,” the source said. “Fox made it clear that he was not welcome and that he could be arrested if he showed up so he backed-out at the last minute. It was a shame because all he wanted to do was to showcase his voice and show people that he can really sing too.”

Lopez and Noa were married for less than a year between 1997 and 1998. Since then, the one-time couple has been locked in bitter court battles with Lopez trying to block him from releasing a film about his life because it reportedly contained raunchy footage of them together. Um, if her douchetastic ex wanted to try out, why hasn’t he done it before this season, when J-Lo is a judge? Isn’t he too old to try out anyways?

New Music Friday – Juke Kartel

Juke Kartel is a band of brothers who live to create music”

Rocking loud and hard, with a respectful nod to the blues, Juke Kartel is a charismatic blend of talent, passion and dedication with a downright mischievous streak. As young teenagers, front man Toby Rand, guitarists Todd Burman and Dale Winters and bassist Tommy Kende first came together to forge what became Juke Kartel. Drummer Jason Pinfold joined the band just last year. Like brothers they finish each other’s sentences, bicker, bait and wind each other up, but the fraternal love is self-evident, along with the mutual admiration and respect. “We’re more than just band mates. We’re a family that chose each other.”

Juke Kartel spent the last year recording their debut album “Nowhere Left To Hide” at Seattle’s renowned London Bridge Studios with legendary rock producer Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, 3 Doors Down, Nickelback). “Juke Kartel is one of the best rock bands to come out in a long time,” says Rick. “They definitely are on their way to being an arena rock band with a 60′s, grunge-like quality that gives them an edge.”

Among the bands many accomplishments, their biggest highlight was being the first unsigned artist to perform at the MTV Awards Australia. The band had played its fair share of small clubs and pubs for the last few years before Nickelback asked them to open two stadium gigs in Melbourne last year. Followed by a national arena tour of the USA and Canada. The guys then traveled back to Australia to do their own national tour, backed up immediately with the main support spot for the Seether tour.

Leaving Australia behind, the band has moved to Los Angeles to focus on breaking in the US as well as to start filming “On The Road with Juke Kartel” – a TV series based on their journey as a foreign artist taking on America. Expect much more to come.

Levolution,’ their Carved Records debut, was produced by Brian Virtue (Jane’s Addiction, Velvet Revolver, 30 Seconds to Mars) and Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nickelback). The album features a half-dozen freshly penned tracks, including the melodic first single “If Only” and five others from the band’s 2009 Australian CD, Nowhere Left to Hide. With its overarching theme of personal growth and “the journey we’re all on,” says vocalist/lyricist Rand, Levolution finds musical symmetry in its strong hooks, multi-textured instrumentals and passionate vocals. And as the album is more than just your typical rock record, Juke Kartel is not just a rock band: “We’re more than just band-mates; we’re a family that chose each other.”

Brangelina Kids Godmother is Mindy Cohn

How awesome would it be to live with Mindy Cohn? I am guessing half of you are about to google Mindy Cohn to see who she is because she isn’t Jonas Brother groupie nor does she smuggle cocaine in her noonie. She was Natalie Green from “The Facts of Life”!!!! If you still don’t know what I am talking about then I blame the school systems. Blair, Tootie, Natalie, Jo and Miss Garrett should be a necessary part of every child’s curriculum.

Regardless of my insistence that Tootie week should be observed, Mindy is reportedly the Godmother of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s kids. It’s a bit odd as Cohn is the type who gets her kicks by feasting on smores and mojitos while gabbing about American Idol versus Jolie’s idea of fun that involves pvc, heroin and an assortment of medieval weaponry.

Us Weekly is basing this rumor on their hidden friendship and BFF status with Angie’s brother, James Haven. They also cite a diamond ring they gave her after the twins were born and she was given the Godmother honor.

Hollywood Dame Exclusive Interview – Juke Kartel

Honed amidst the underground club scene of Melbourne, Juke Kartel has arrived on U.S. soil ready to rock. In little more than four years, the five-member band has gone from local heroes to fast-rising stars – opening for Nickelback and Slash and sharing the stage with everyone from Ozzy Osbourne to Fergie. This summer they opened the Australian leg of Slash’s world tour and on September 28th will introduce their own brand of rock to stages across America.

Levolution, their Carved Records debut, was produced by Brian Virtue (Jane’s Addiction, Velvet Revolver, 30 Seconds to Mars) and Rick Parashar (Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nickelback). The album features a half-dozen freshly penned tracks- including the melodic first single “If Only” – and six others from the band’s 2009 Australian CD, Nowhere Left to Hide, remixed by Dan Korneff (My Chemical Romance, Cavo). With its overarching theme of personal growth and “the journey we’re all on,” says vocalist/lyricist Toby Rand, Levolution finds musical symmetry in its strong hooks, multi-textured instrumentals and passionate vocals. And as the album is more than just your typical rock record, Juke Kartel is not just a rock band: “We’re more than just band-mates; we’re a family that chose each other.”

Visit JukeKartel.com to find out more about the band and their music. Levolution is available for pre-order now on Amazon.

I had the chance to speak with lead singer Toby Rand about things such as breaking into the music industry, their hobbies, and their musical interests. You can read about that below.

When did you first realize you had an interest in music, and what sparked that interest?

For me personally, I was about 10 years old and I had two older brothers, both who were musicians, and my brother Simon was an amazing singer, always listening to bands like U2 and Led Zepplin. My mom was a music teacher for 30 years, she actually just retired, and at age 10 I joined the choir but more so for the girls. But from the moment I heard my brothers, I would get up there and try to sing with them every chance I got. I started my own rock band and singing when I was 15 in school.

How would you describe the sound of your music, and how do you feel your music is different from others in your genre?

That’s an interesting question. We’re a big powerful, guitar driven band with stadium sonic sound. We tend to write real situations about life experiences. I think what sets us apart is our sound is a universal language. We have such diverse fans, men and women, younger and older. With the women, it’s usually the melody and the content of the lyrics. With the men, it’s usually the energy in the live shows that gets them involved. We’re a universal sound from Australia.

How did you break into the music industry?

It’s been a long road and the music industry is slow in Australia. In 2006 I got a phone call for a television show in the US called Rock Star, which was for Tommy Lee’s new band. I auditioned for it, and afterwards I had Juke Kartel ready for me in Australia so I flew over and we eventually got a record contract. It’s been a long and an amazing journey.

What are some of your short term and long term goals? What are your plans for promoting your music and upcoming album in the US?

Short term is just to have our music heard by masses, but that comes with the promotion of the album. We don’t set big goals for ourselves, the label does that for us. But just to play as many shows in front of people as we can. Right now we’re doing a lot of radio promotion – the guitarist and myself are going around playing acoustic performances. It’s been a lot of fun.

Was there ever a time where you felt like giving up music or quitting on your way to where you are now?

No. There has never been a time. I’ve been fortunate enough to make music even though I’ve struggled. I’ve got a great support group of family and friends that have been there for me through it all and know how hard it is to make something happen. Nothing else has ever captured my imagination – It’s always to be a singer in a rock band.

Besides music, what are some of your hobbies? What do you do to keep yourself grounded?

What keeps me grounded is hanging out with my band mates. There is no egos in the band. In Australian culture, we are brought up to respect our peers, have a life, but be socially conscious. As for hobbies, now living in Hollywood, we like to go hiking, to go surfing, go to Cabo and drink margaritas. Hanging out by the beach reminds us of summertime in Australia. We just like to be active and be outdoors.

Who are some of your musical influences, and who are some artists you would love to work with?

For me personally, my biggest that I look up to is Bono from U2. He’s a little more political that I could ever inspire to be. But just his stage presences, his lyrics, and the sound of his voice. Also, Scott Weiland and Chris Cornell. Scott for his personality and music and Chris for his vocals and his demeanor on stage. Also Michael Hutchence from INXS for his attitude and charisma. I would love to share a room with all four people, even though I know I can’t now just to share their spark and their star quality. And Robert Plant. I’d love to share a stage with him, and just see how high I can get a note next to him.

What drives you the most to do what you love? What inspires you?

What inspires me is the connection to friends and people who enjoy our music. I respond to a lot of emails from friends and fans – who, I don’t even call fans, I call them friends – who share stories with me or moments after a gig on how the music has touched them. It’s quite inspiring.

What is your favorite song on your upcoming album and why?

Do you know hard that is (laughs). The album is called ‘Levolution’ and it’s a journey of our band together. Every song tells a different story and means a lot to me. The song ‘Anybody Out There’ is a sonically beautiful song. It’s about our move overseas from Australia to the US and tells about life, inspiration, and dreams. The song ‘Find Out’ is a journey song, a balls on the line song so to speak. Every song on the album is my favorite.

What sort of feelings do you hope your fans will have from listening to your upcoming album?

I hope they are inspired. To be able to walk away after listening to it and feel like they are motivated to make a change for the better. I hope they enjoy it. It’s a great album and I’m really proud of it.

Blame Gisele Bundchen for Tom Brady’ Bieber Hair Do

Apparently Tom Brady’s hair is becoming a controversy for Patriots fans. Everyone wants him to cut that Bieber inspired mane that makes him look like some desperate 30 something trying to recapture his youth and it’s kinda sad.

Brady’s biggest fans, like ESPN’s Bill Simmons, have openly voiced his mop is ridiculous.

“A few weeks ago, all Patriots fans made a pact to pretend that Brady’s 2010 hairdo isn’t happening. We’re going to ignore it completely — even if his hair catches fire during a game and a referee puts it out with a challenge flag — and play dumb whenever you bust our balls about it. Which will probably be often.”

Well, his wife Gisele Bundchen is responsible for this revival of the Dorothy Hamill hairdo. Brady was on a radio show (via Boston Herald) answering Greg Hill’s questions when he was asked about his embarrassing style.

“Is there anything I can do to make you cut your hair,” Hill pressed.
“Ah, you’ll have to speak to my wife about that,” Brady replied.

His teammates mock it and the fact that Gisele controls his hair. Pats receiver Brandon Tate chided: “That’s a grown man over there, he can do what he wants. That’s on him.”

Egads. My expertise doesn’t even skim the world of football, but how sad is it when the quarterback’s HAIR is the subject of discussion?!?

Miley Cyrus NOT Getting Married, NO Boob Job, No Cop Trouble – VIDEO

Miley Cyrus has made another vlog to clear up all those pesky rumors from “whack sources” that keep her up at night. She made a nearly 10 minute video to introduce her new dog and assert that she isn’t getting married nor is she living with anyone (ahem Liam Hemsworth). She then waxed on about paparazzi, the cops and boob jobs. I will save you ten minutes of your life and sum it up…

*Paparazzi are the epitome of stranger danger and may be evil-doers.
*No police trouble for talking on her cell while driving. She was calling the cops on the paps who then came and escorted her home for safety reasons. Plus, she isn’t a free bitch baby.
*Likes to hang with dogs in her mom’s shoe closet (which is the size of my house and I am pretty sure it was decorated by Noah Cyrus using Target’s back to school offerings).
*No she is not getting married or living with a boyfriend. She is too busy rolling in cash and workin’ hard for it.
*No new boobies…yet.
*She doesn’t have a case of the sads. Photogs don’t let her go on walks and prevent her from enjoying the Earth.

Katy Perry’s Boobs Banned from Sesame Street – VIDEO

Katy Perry was too tittastic on Sesame Street when she did a play version of ‘Hot and Cold’ in a cleavage revealing green dress. Parents clutched their pearls and alerted the church elders who have smote Perry’s breasts from the show.

The episode was due to air around New Year’s Eve, but like all things that involve boobs, explosions or pandas sneezing…it hit the net. Parents took one look at her ‘inappropriate attire’ and started complaining. PBS has since pulled the song from the upcoming show and banned Perry’s breasts.

Umm…isn’t Elmo and 90% of the other muppets constantly without clothes? I mean, at least Donald Duck wears a top and Mickey puts on shorts and suspenders. Of course, he is furry. Hmmm….

‘Friends’ Matt LeBlanc: Don’t Call Me Joey!

Friends‘ star Matt Leblanc is so tired of fans referring to him as his character Joey that he launched into a foul-mouthed rant at reporters on Tuesday insisting the show is “in the past”. According to Popeater, LeBlanc has seemingly grown tired of fans still greeting him with Joey’s catchphrase “How you doin’?” and he reportedly became enraged during a London Fashion Week party on Tuesday when he heard the iconic comment.

The incident started when the 43-year-old actor clumsily knocked into the reporter’s table, sending glasses flying. “You all right, Joey? How YOU do-in?” the reporter joked. But LeBlanc wasn’t laughing and allegedly raged, “I’m not Joey. Don’t you dare call me Joey. The papers say I’m finished, so don’t call me f**king Joey. I want to leave that all behind. I’m moving on.”

And he didn’t stop there. “I’m not Joey. For the last time. I’m not f**king Joey. It’s Matt. Matt LeBlanc. Joey’s in the past. I’m trying to do something new,” he yelled.

Now in an interesting turn in a fairly recent interview, when the subject of “Joey” came up, LeBlanc replied in a much different tone. He also skipped the foul mouthed display.

In a recent interview, LeBlanc insisted he didn’t mind still being linked with his famous Friends alter-ego, saying, “If people really believe me as that character, I have done my job. I don’t look on it as a negative thing. I take it as a compliment.

Maybe he was just having a bad day? Whatever the reason, he won’t be making many ‘Friends’ with that kind of an attitude!

Craig Ferguson on ‘Big Bang Theory’ – VIDEOS

I suppose it would more aptly be ‘Big Bang Theory‘ on the ‘Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson‘? Either way, Craig is an adorable ball of Scottish wit and the entire cast of BBT makes me want to hand out hugs like candy at Halloween. (It’s a rare thing.)

Fellow nerds will be tuning into the return of ‘Big Bang Theory’ tonight at 8 PM. (YAY!) To help the show pimp its premiere, Craig Ferguson did a skit with the cast in which he attempts to join the group by completing a test created by Sheldon.
