Ben Harper stunned many, including wife Laura Dern, by filing for divorce on Friday afternoon.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Harper lists irreconcilable differences as the cause of the split.
What is more so interesting is that Harper claims the two split back in January which, according to friends of the couple, is not true.
“People connected with the couple, who married back in 2005, tell TMZ they have been living and traveling together throughout the year and were even intimate as recently as last week.”
Harper is seeking joint legal and physical custody of the two’s children, Ellery and Jaya who are nine and five, respectively.
