Katy Perry wed her beau Russel Brand in a lavish ceremony this past Saturday in India.

“The very private and spiritual ceremony, attended by the couples’ closest family and friends was performed by a Christian minister and longtime friend of the Hudson Family. The backdrop was the inspirational and majestic countryside of Northern India.”
In traditional Indian ceremonies, the Bridegroom and his male relatives walk to where the bride awaits. Usually, the bridegroom rides upon a white horse, but, not to be undersold, Brand and Perry chose elephants to make their grand entrance.
Guests also wore traditional Indian attire, including children wearing turbans. As guests entered the wedding venue, they were greeted by acrobats and jugglers.
Noticeably absent from the event was Perry’s BFF, fellow singer, Rihanna.
According to TMZ, Rihanna was unable to attend her friend’s ceremony due to work.
