Lindsay Lohan Ordered To Stay In Rehab – NO Jailtime

Lindsay Lohan caught a lucky break this morning – Judge Elden Fox ordered Lohan to stay in rehab until January 3rd, 2011 instead of sending her to jail for violating her probation. She is due back in court on February 25th and will have to undergo random drug and alcohol testing between her release from rehab until her court date. She will also reportedly have her SCRAM bracelet removed today.

Per TMZ:

The said to Lindsay at one point, “You are an addict. I hope you understand that.” Lindsay nodded her head in agreement.

The D.A. reportedly suggested 6 months in jail for Lindsay while the probation department recommend 1 month in jail. Lindsay was said to be in tears at the end of the hearing and simply told the judge “thank you” for choosing rehab over jail.

‘The Hobbit’ Cast – PHOTOS

Now that Peter Jackson is re-attached to “The Hobbit” (he is the beast that brought you the ‘The Lord of the Rings’), he has gotten a lot of casting down. Martin Freeman nabbed the role of the movie’s focus, Bilbo Baggins. (Ian Holm portrayed the older Bilbo in the LOTR films.) Martin is recognizable to some from the book to silverscreen movie, “The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy” and “Hot Fuzz.”

The rest of the cast is currently building. Richard Armitage will play Thorin Oakenshield who is a leader of a crew of dwarves that take on a dragon in order to take back Lonely Mountain. Aidan Turner and Rob Kazinsky scored the roles Kili and Fili who are a part of Oakenshield’s forces.

Jackson also confirmed that Graham McTavish will play Dwalin and Mark Hadlow was cast as Dori. (Mark was in Jackson’s ‘King Kong’ revamp.)

“Graham is a terrific actor, with a great depth of experience, which I know he will bring to the role of Dwalin. I have worked with Mark Hadlow on many projects, he is a fantastic actor…I am also proud to announce the casting of New Zealand actors as Peter Hambleton, John Callen and Stephen Hunter. Fran and I know that they will bring great depth and talent to our Company of Dwarves.”


Deadline reports more casting rumors and reiterates the rumor that Ian McKellan will return to play Gandalf.

“None of this is set, but I’ve heard that James Nesbitt and David Tennant are up for roles, and that Ian McKellan and Andy Serkis are expected to reprise Gandalf and Gollum, though I don’t believe they have made deals. Stephen Fry, Saoirse Ronan and Bill Nighy (as the voice of the dragon Smaug) are possible participants, and Aiden Turner was in contention for the Elf King before he got the role of Fili.”

These roles are coveted thanks to a large amount of clout and recognition that will move a lot of unknowns into the American spotlight. If you recall Orlando Bloom enjoyed a surge of interest as his career exploded (before fizzling – I blame his role choices and the films Troy and Elizabethtown) after being a part of the Lord of the Rings trilogy as Legolas.

Is Miley Cyrus Getting Married?

This may or may not be true since this comes from the “National Enquirer”, but they have been right about a lot of stuff as of late. However, I think we can blow this one off as a baseless rumor. According to the magazine, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are getting married soon.

The happy pair are talking about a spring 2011 wedding, sources tell The ENQUIRER.

Miley turns 18 on November 23rd, and a so-called “source” says that Miley’s dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, is all for the wedding once she’s legal.

“Billy Ray is all for the wedding…once she turns 18,” revealed a source close to the “Achy Breaky Heart” singer. “He thinks the world of Liam and sees a lot of himself in him. They’re both extremely protective of Miley – and they both have her best interests at heart.”

So is it all fiction? Yes, says reps for Miley and Billy Ray to Gossip Cop. They say the story is “not true” and that Miley not marrying in spring 2011.

Is There A Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and John Mayer Love Triangle?

Kim Kardashian has been working her ho-stoll-moves on both Kanye West and John Mayer, being linked to both of them recently. She and Kanye were reportedly seen at a restaurant called Bijan’s Bistro in Chicago on Tuesday getting quite close!

Per InTouch:

Brian Schyler, a local jazz singer who was also dining at the late-night restaurant, tells In Touch exclusively, “Kanye had his arm around her all evening!” And Kim sat extra-close to Kanye until the wee hours of the morning. “He was rubbing her knee all night — they definitely looked like a couple,” Brian tells In Touch.

But other sources say Kim has been going out with John lately, known more for his insatiable appetite for women than his actual music.

Per TMZ:

One source close to Kim tells us it’s “nothing serious” … yet — but she thinks John is a “really cool guy.”

Well, she did say she was ‘down for some hook-ups‘ recently! Meanwhile, Kim will reportedly be celebrating her 30th birthday tonight at a club called Glo in New York City. And one of the highlights of the party will be Kim’s million-dollar birthday cake. Seriously! A jeweler is going to encrust the cake with well over a million dollars in loose diamonds. The people making the cake want to break the record for the most expensive birthday cake ever made, which was $1.65 million.

New Music Friday – Tamar Kaprelian

Tamar Kaprelian has released another video from her sessions at Jack Johnson’s Solar Powered Plastic Plant in Los Angeles, CA (check out the first video here.) This time, the 23-year-old singer/songwriter performs “Should Have Known Better” off of her debut album Sinner or a Saint.

The track is “definitely about someone who did me wrong and led me in the wrong direction,” Tamar explains. “Had I not gone through that experience, I wouldn’t have written the record that I wrote.”

Lara Stone’s Banned Calvin Klein Billboard Ad – PHOTO

Lara Stone’s ad for Calvin Klein has been banned in Australia. Since everyone has gone all sex maniac and/or beat your lady crazy (thanks a lot Tiger Woods, Jesse James, Mel Gibson, Chris Brown, kids from Glee), bureaus and councils have gone into alert-the-church-elders overdrive.

Australia’s Advertising Standards Bureau is the latest to nix an ad that they felt conveyed “violence and rape” and found the CK billboard was “demeaning women.”

Mel Gibson Fired From ‘Hangover 2′

Are you really surprised? How many studios are willing to pay in pre-jacuzzi blow jobs these days?

Mel Gibson will no longer make a cameo in ‘The Hangover Part II’ as a tattoo artist. It seems that fellow cast members aren’t thrilled to have their names attached to a film that involves Gibson. Zach Galifianakis wasn’t shy in revealing that he wasn’t happy with “something to do with a movie” he is currently working on.

Per Comedy Death-Ray podcast (Via Hollywood Reporter):

“A movie you’re acting in, you don’t have a lot of control; you just show up and vomit your lines out. I’m not the boss. I’m in deep protest right now about a movie I’m working on, up in arms about something. But I can’t get the guys to [listen]. … I’m not making any leeway. It has something to do with a movie I’m working on, yeah. I’ll tell you about it later. It’s very frustrating.”

Zach isn’t alone. Several other cast and crew members also hated the idea but haven’t publicly alluded to their feelings. Basically, the Hangover centers on the guys going to Bangkok and getting into more trouble. One of them gets a tattoo during their adventure abroad and somehow the role of the tattoo artist is “pivotal” to the film. According to a source involved with creating the script, Mel was perfect for the role thanks to his nuttier than squirrel shiz status. However, the role is described as just a cameo.

Regardless, director for Hangover 2, Todd Phillips, confirmed that Mel is out…

“I thought Mel would have been great in the movie and I had the full backing of Jeff Robinov and his team. But I realize filmmaking is a collaborative effort, and this decision ultimately did not have the full support of my entire cast and crew.”

So it looks like he will have to stick with a Jody Foster produced musicals. I admittedly never saw the first movie in its entirety, but wasn’t Mike Tyson in it? Yeah, I thought so. Mel can now move his reputation peg below convicted rapist.
