That is a sentence I never thought I’d write after seeing “Black Snake Moan.” Of course, Justin Timberlake is still a triple threat and currently focusing on acting. The boy is like a career octopus with his tentacles in everything from clothing lines, charities, restaurants, tequila, music and more films.
His latest acting venture, “The Social Network,” has received positive critical acclaim and grossed over $130 million worldwide as on the beginning of November. It’s no surprise that Oscar buzz is circulating. Page Six reported that Timberlake is polishing his trophy case and yearning for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
“He’s hell-bent on getting a nomination this year even though he has tough competition from his co-star Andrew Garfield. Sony is footing the bill for advertising the awards campaign, but Justin is also doing things his own way, including attending Academy screenings on his own and privately reaching out to award winners and Academy darlings Tom Hanks and Kevin Spacey for campaigning advice.”
The question is now…Could Justin Timberlake win an Oscar? Well, it’s a strong possibility. Look for him to be hitting every red carpet event he can and kissing the rumps of anyone with power at parties ranging from the American Film Institute to the National Board of Review. If he campaigns well, he may actually have a shot. Knowing how smooth JT is, it won’t be difficult to catch the eyes of the nomination board.
