Ryan Reynolds has officially filed for divorce from his wife of the past couple years Scarlett Johansson. Papers were officially filed in the L.A. Superior Court House on Thursday. Johansson filed her response simultaneously. Both documents list December 14 as their date of separation and neither is seeking spousal support.
Per TMZ:
Since everything they earned is community property, presumably it will be divided 50/50, though the petitions say property rights are yet to be determined.
Although the divorce is friendly, they aren’t taking any chances. Ryan has hired disso-queen Laura Wasser, and Scarlett has retained Lynn Soodik.
Hollywood Dame reported the split several weeks ago, which came as a shock as the couple was seemingly happy in recent months. Reynolds even referred to Johansson in an interview as “the best thing that’s ever happened to him.”

What a shame. Hollwood marriages barely last longer than the movies they play in. I wonder when people will realize that marriage is work and compromises? It’s hard but true love will learn to live with it.
