New Music Friday – BelleVoxx

W2W Records girl group BelleVoxx release their second single off their anticipated debut full-length slated for release in March. The ballad, “I Miss You Like Crazy,” picks up where their debut single, “Looking for Love,” left off, exploring the loneliness of missing someone close to one’s heart. The single is available on iTunes.

Frank Thomas, best known for his 15-plus seasons with the Chicago White Sox and multiple All-Star appearances, launched W2W Records in 2005 but just recently assumed full-time creative control after his February 10th retirement from baseball earlier this year. BelleVoxx’s upcoming, debut album will be W2W’s first release with Thomas as CEO and is a project that he’s shepherded from the very beginning.

Candice Crawford to Marry Tony Romo

Tony Romo and Candice Crawford are getting married. [Insert a joke about Jessica Simpson breathing a sigh of relief and reasserting her engagement ring purchase was indeed wise.]

Romo has given Candace the gift of a lifetime with him for her birthday. I didn’t think there was a worse/more narcissistic gift that John Mayer’s DVD birthday gift. I stand corrected. Candice, sister to ‘Gossip Girl’ star Chace Crawford, was out with her family celebrating when Romo proposed.

“Tony Romo may not be making many headlines on the field this season, but that isn’t stopping him from making news off of it. The Cowboys QB got engaged to his girlfriend Candice Crawford earlier tonight, according to KDAF-TV in Dallas. The couple was reportedly celebrating Crawford’s 24th birthday with her family at Five Sixty at the time of the proposal.”

Happy Birthday! I didn’t get you that new Kate Spade purse or the waffle maker you wanted, but I got you something way better….it’s….MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt to Wed in India ?!

I have to take my shoes off or bust out my abacus to count how many times Branglenia have been set to get married. This story comes from the Globe and Mail so put on your imagination caps, take a grain of salt and climb on trolley to go to the Neighborhood of Make Believe…Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting married.

“After years together as a couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have decided to tie the knot. In an obvious move for a man born in Oklahoma and a woman born in L.A., the pair are planning a Hindu wedding in Jodhpur, India. Actually, it all makes sense. You see, the Hindu priest who will be front and centre at the wedding is reported to have saved Brangelina’s relationship through couples’ yoga and meditation, and so the famous couple is going to get hitched at his ashram.”

The report goes on to describe Katy Perry and Russel Brand’s Indian wedding and how destination weddings are the new rehab. If you believe the Globe then set aside the entire year of 2011 back for their possible wedding date. Although I won’t be booking in India bound airfare anytime soon. At Least not until I hear about about Maddox ordering truck loads of orchids to be delivered to to the Chuck E. Cheese in Jodhpur and a hand tailored Italian pinstripe suite with a pocket square in aqua to offset Shiloh’s eyes.

Britney Spears Inspiration Behind ‘Country Strong’

You know that move about a drunken mess involving Gwyneth Paltrow? It’s based on Brit Brit’s ham sandwich crazy meltdown and subsequent rise from the pile of Taco Bell wrappers.

The director/writer of ‘Country Strong,’ Shana Feste, told the LA Times that the Britney Spears and her head shaving, umbrella wielding fall from grace was the reason we are being subjected to Paltrow singing.

“That’s where this movie came from. I mean, I was seeing what was happening in the media to Britney Spears. I finished the script when Michael Jackson passed away. I think it’s tragic how we treat people who give us so much, and we love to see them knocked down to build them back up again, to knock them down again. It’s a weird fascination.”

I brazenly admit that Gwen irritates me, but she is the offspring of the fierce Blythe Danner so I will say something nice…um… Wow Gwen, your plastic surgeon has such a delightful sense of humor.” Ok, I will get back to you when I think of something.

Julia Stiles Denies Involvement With ‘Dexter’ Co-Star Michael C. Hall

As Hollywood Dame reported a few days ago, ‘Dexter’ star Michael C. Hall is divorcing his wife, Jennifer Carpenter (who oddly plays his sister on the show) of two years.

Following the announcement of the split, gossip guru Lainey posted a blind item of sorts on her blog claiming that the divorce was caused in part to Hall’s increased affection for another ‘Dexter’ co-star: actress Julia Stiles. CLICK HERE to read about that.

Now, the ever so private Stiles has come forward releasing a statement to TMZ that the split had nothing to do with her.

“I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer. We are good friends and enjoyed working together. This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy. Although I too prefer to keep my private life private, I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter.”

Do we believe her, kittens? I am always inclined to side with any chick who has no issue taking an acting job that requires table dancing to The Notorious B.I.G. Did you forget what you love most about Julia Stiles? I love ‘Ten Things I Hate About You.’ It’s time to watch it again.

Blake Edwards Dead At 88

Blake Edwards, famed director, has passed away. He was 88.

Known for his witty dialogue, Edwards was best known for his work on the ‘Pink Panther’ movies, ’10′, and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s.’

Edwards, who was married to actress Julie Andrews for nearly 50 years, passed away Wednesday due to complications from pneumonia at a hospital in Santa Monica. He had been in the hospital for nearly two weeks.

His publicist, Gene Schwam, revealed that Edwards had been confined to a wheelchair the last year and a half of his life due to unsuccessful knee surgeries.

“His heart was as big as his talent. He was an Academy Award winner in all respects,” said Schwam, who knew him for 40 years.

Kim Kardashian’s New Years Resolution

Kim Kardashian has had a huge year. She was the most searched celebrity on the internet, the highest paid reality TV star, and she even made People Magazine’s Most Intriguing list. It seems we’re often gossiping about her love life since she changes boyfriends faster than I can down a rum & coke. But now it seems she’s turned over a new leaf just in time for 2011 and has one helluva resolution to hold true to!

Per Examiner:

Kim told Rachel Ray on the December 16 show: “I want to try to be single my whole year of being 30. I’ve never just dated and done whatever I wanted. I have a hundred different jobs — when do I have time to really focus on someone?”

She added, “I’ve made a promise to myself and I’m really trying hard to stick to it, but I’m such a hopeless romantic that it’s hard. I don’t think that’s going to last, because that’s just how I am. But the fact that I’m trying is a big step for me!”

So will Kim really not be playing tonsil hockey with anyone as the clock strikes 12 and the New Year begins? I give her kudos if she can pull this off, but isn’t she the chick that recently said she was ‘down for some hook-ups?’ I’d be willing to bet she’ll have a new man by Valentine’s Day.

Diddy is known for being the “King of Parties” but sometimes they go a little too far. He now may be banned from a NY hotel where he threw a bash to celebrate the release of his new album ‘Last Train to Paris’ and almost burnt the place down… Literally with some girls hair!

Per Fox News:

The Fire Department was called to the London NYC on West 54th Street when the mane of a gorgeous bikini-clad model frolicking in a bubble bath suddenly went up in flames Tuesday night.

No one was injured and the fire was contained and all is safe now. Diddy may be banned from the hotel as he was breaking their policy by having the candles in the first place. Scary!
