Giada di Laurentiis just did an interview with Redbook Magazine and she had A LOT to say about rumors that she cheated on her husband Todd Thompson with John Mayer. After an eyewitness told Star Magazine that Giada and John were “canoodling” at an NYC party in November and “looked like two people who were going to go home together,” both parties denied it. Now, Giada has something to say about the incident.
Per NYDailyNews:
“The John Mayer incident was completely unexpected. I was shocked. And not so much for me, but for my husband and family,” De Laurentiis, 40, told Redbook magazine. “Todd was embarrassed that his family in Michigan would see it and think, ‘What is going on over there in Hollywood?’”
“I haven’t had any contact with John Mayer in three years. You know how you’ll briefly get introduced to somebody? Maybe we chatted for five minutes, but I wouldn’t consider that intimate,” she said.
“I think the only things that could have possibly tied us together is that we were at the same hotel that weekend in question. Which, by the way, my husband was with me there as well.”
If the rumors are false then why is she talking about it now and broadcasting it to every media channel that will listen? This happened more than 2 months ago and Mayer has been accused of sleeping with 5 other women since then. Time to move on…
