Chris Brown was back in a Los Angeles courtroom today to give an update on his on-going probation for assaulting his ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Judge Patricia Schnegg showered Brown in praise for doing an exceptional job at making a dent in his court-ordered community labor hours and completing his 52-week domestic violence classes. At the hearing, Brown’s attorney Mark Geragos requested the removal of a five-year stay-away order, barring Brown from coming within 100 yards of Rihanna, saying “It can be a problem with award shows.”
Per Daily Mail:
After congratulating him for finishing the programme in ‘fine fashion’, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg said she need to check with Rihanna’s attorneys about lifting the restraining order. The judge said she would not be opposed to the order being lowered to a ‘do not annoy’ order.
Brown will have to return to court once Rihanna’s legal team have decided whether or not they object to the lifting of the restraining order. Rihanna didn’t want a restraining order in the first place, so I’m pretty sure Chris will have no problem getting his wish granted.
