In the Top Ten Things That Amuses Me, Prince and his slightly creepy but diva attitude of Mariah Carey, Celine Dion and Kayne West rolled into is perched at #1 today.
Kim Kardashian wobbled up on stage wearing Cleopatra’s ho strollin’ gear as Prince worked the stage in a gold lame suit from Barbie’s disco collection. Fierce commanded her to dance and she stood around like she was trying to figure out what 7+6 is but her Spanx were too tight and cutting off blood flow to her brain. When Prince demands you dance…you dance. He doesn’t care if you are a one-legged midget with fibromyalgia. You start busting out something with a wiggle. He then kicked her off the stage and Kris Jenner hung her head in shame in this wasted fame whorin’ opportunity.
Because Prince is a gracious and forgiving queen, he let her come up a second time to try and redeem herself.
Prince has earned his stripes in the entertainment business. The premise of her being invited on stage was to dance – Kim got on stage and just sat and clapped. Prince wanted genuine fans on stage that were going to be in the moment and enjoy the energy and have fun with him. I don’t think him asking her to get off the stage was done in diva behavior but in frustration at her taking time away from genuine fans who wanted to be in the moment and dance with a legendary entertainer.
