Robert Pattinson Adopts Puppy Because He’s “Lonely”

I am sure many ladies (and some men) would sell an organ on the black market to help Robert combat loneliness. Sparklepants is feeling lonesome and adopted a puppy. (Don’t bother trying to dress up as a collie. I sent an intern to give it a whirl and it failed after she asked him to sign her underwear and offered to have his babies. Damn interns.)

A UK rag reported that Robert Pattinson spoke candidly of being lonely on the road. He thought about employing and entourage, but can’t find any takers (who aren’t hyperventilating and humping his leg upon meeting him).

“I know it’s sad. A lot of actors have a bunch of people who kind of just go up and stay with them for like two months, like an entourage. But my friends, their egos are too big. They’d be like, ‘I’m not part of your entourage. I’ll stay in a free hotel for a bit if it’s in New York or LA but I’m not going to come out to some random town in the sticks.”

Instead of paying his friends to keep him company he decided to adopt a puppy to keep him company.

“That’s kind of why I adopted the puppy. It’s from a shelter and he was going to be put down. I only got him two or three days ago and they only keep them for 10 days. He’s been freaked out. It’s funny. I got a private plane here from Louisiana, where I was filming Twilight, so he came out of the shelter and the next day he’s on a private plane. A bit like Lady And The Tramp.”

Sparklepants also mentioned that he didn’t have a name for his K-9 pal yet, but thought of calling him Robert. You will be able to catch the actual Rob on the April issue of Vanity Fair. He will posing with a 4 foot alligator and talking about his love for chocolate covered pretzels and and pretzel M&Ms. Until then, you can enjoy these outtakes of Pattinson wearing a hat looking bothered.
