Marion Cotillard Joins ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Rises’ Cast

Marion Cotillard has been cast alongside a few of her ‘Inception’ co-stars in the third Batman film. We first learned that Tom Hardy would be portraying Bane, the super intelligent/strong villain. Next Anne Hathaway scored the much sought after Catwoman role. Joseph Gordon Levitt was then revealed to have joined the cast as The Holiday Killer. He was also rumored to be attached to the role of The Riddler, but both notions were wrong.

According to a press release (via Cinema Blend), Cotillard is an official part of the ‘The Dark Knight Rises‘ cast and both she and Joe will be a part of Batman’s team.

Cotillard will be playing Miranda Tate, “a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.” Gordon-Levitt’s character is John Blake, “a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon.”

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ is due in theaters July 20,2012.
