Britney Spears was robbed of an Oscar for “Crossroads” (not really) and she was also robbed of another movie role.
David O. Russell (known for directing ‘The Fighter’ and ‘Three Kings’) confirmed the casting rumor at the Tribeca Film Festival. He had actually auditioned Spears “several years ago” for a role and nearly handed it to her. He remained tight lipped about what the movie was. Mark Walberg then went and revealed the movie role that Britney was almost cast while at Time’s 100 Gala.
“He’s wanted to work with Britney Spears for a very long time. He wanted to, at one point, thought about casting her in the role that originally went to Naomi Watts in I Heart Huckabees. Yeah, so he’s been…a firm believer in her for a long time and I think she’s talented. David and I are talking about doing three different projects together. Maybe he’ll want her in one of those, whatever he wants to do. He trusted me in whoever I wanted to cast in The Fighter, so why not?”
I love me some B-Spears, but any movie starring her would have to center around Brit-Brit sitting on a bean bag and eating Doritos. I digress, she is famous with buckets of cash while I drive a Dodge Durango that hasn’t had a working air conditioner in 3 years and troll Marshalls for clearance rack Cole Haan pumps.
