Lindsay Lohan May Dodge Jail Time Again

Well well, look who’s had a change of heart! Lindsay Lohan plans to plead no contest in her necklace theft case. By not fighting the misdemeanor charge in court, Lohan’s case could be officially resolved. The trial is set for June, but sources say that Lohan’s lawyer may present the plea this week.

But now there is also an upside to all this for Lindsay – although she was originally sentenced to 120 days in jail, she may not have to serve it in an actual jail cell, says TMZ. The Sheriff’s Department reportedly usually allows for misdemeanor, non-violent offenses to be served by electronic monitoring.

We’re also told the L.A. County Probation Dept. is down with non-violent, misdemeanor offenders serving time at home.

Judge Sautner had ruled that Lohan violated her probation by taking a necklace at a Venice jewelry store and sentenced her jail – in which she later bailed out. Lohan also was ordered to perform 480 hours of community service at a downtown women’s center and the Los Angeles County morgue.

Who didn’t see this one coming? Of course she isn’t going to prison. This is Hollywood where only commoners actually go to jail and the celebs get the overcrowded excuse. Apparently there is a separate set of laws that pertain to Miss Lindsey!
