Scotty McCreery won the hearts and minds of the America – Last night he was crowd your latest ‘American Idol,’ beating out Lauren Alaina for the top spot. We all saw the big kiss they shared when the winner was announced. Were Scotty and Lauren simply caught in the moment or is there a chance the two Idol stars could be an item?
As Lauren and Scotty left the stage for the last time, they were met by the curious press and they were quickly asked about their relationship status. Lauren playfully replied that Scotty “might be” her boyfriend, but Scotty said he was “still single.” So what did he have to say about their ‘status’, well Lauren’s still trying to figure it out too!
Sounds complicated, but don’t get your hopes up — Scotty was quick to shoot down the rumors!
Per Reality World:
“She’s a character, isn’t she? We’re really close friends… I don’t know about the dating part. She’s just being funny,” McCreery told reporters.
Maybe Scotty doesn’t want anybody riding his coattails! Congrats to Scotty on his big win last night and we hope he doesn’t fall victim to curse of the male American Idols – they tend to fizzle out and disappear!

Thia and Scotty make a whole lot more sense than he and Lauren…I think Thia has a lot of class….the way she handled her elimination, Lauren never could. Regardless, I don’t think there’s a chance in the world he’s into Lauren…perhaps the other way around. And Scotty would not disrespect anyone he was dating or cared about by telling all of America it’s not happining. He’s too honest and smart for that. I do not get why so many think he and Lauren are so cute together……I hate to even see them duet together anymore. It’s forced and Scotty does not seem into even the song like he could be, I wish tour producers would take their duet out of program…let Scotty sing When u say nothing at all by himself…that wld be great, or maybe with Thia for a change.
