Toxicology tests and police reports are in on what caused the fatal accident of ‘Jackass’ star Ryan Dunn and his passenger. Police say Dunn was way over the legal alcohol limit and going 140mph when he wrecked in PA and killed himself and a former Navy vet.
Per TMZ:
West Goshen Police Chief Michael Carroll told the Daily Local News … Dunn’s B.A.C. was .196 … nearly two-and-a-half times the legal limit in Pennsylvania, which is .08. Carroll added, “No other substances were found in his blood other than the alcohol.”
Police also estimated that he was traveling at 140mph when his Porsche veered off the road, went airborne and crashed into the woods off the highway in West Goshen on Monday. The crash also killed his passenger Zachary Hartwell, who was drinking with him at a bar before the accident. Hartwell was a former Navy Gunners Mate that served 2 terms in Iraq and was currently a stunt driver himself.
Mourners placed flowers and took photos at the accident scene, while Facebook and Twitter were buzzing with condolences from friends and fans around the world. Fellow ‘Jackass‘ star Bam Margera continues to mourn the loss of his best friend, breaking down when talking to a reporter yesterday after surveying the crash site. Margera talks about his loss, giving a personal look at his pain and how it has affected him and those close to Dunn. (Warning: The video below is absolutely heartbreaking.)
Though it’s tragic to lose anybody, I have to admit it was a very stupid move to drive while that intoxicated and drive that fast on top of it all. Our thoughts here at Hollywood Dame continue to go out to his family and friends. Ryan Dunn, you will be greatly missed.
