It looks like consoling my mother with Michael Bolton CDs and Mint Milano cookies as she pleaded to the heavens, ‘Don’t mess with mah GLEE!!!!!!’ was all for nothing. Chord Overstreet might still grace the halls of ‘Glee’ with his blonde Bieber-worthy locks and his lips that are one of the gateways to Narnia.
TV Line explains that while his role of Sam was not picked up as “series regular” that doesn’t mean he was fired…
“His option to be a series regular was just not picked up at this time,” clarifies the source. “If Chord wants to appear on Glee, the choice is his. The Glee writers like his Sam character, and have plans to write for him. He and his reps have been told that he is welcome back to Glee, and everyone hopes he will show up on August 10 when filming begins.”
The site also points out the fact that his fellow cast member, Harry Shum Jr., didn’t make series regular status until this year. The option to be picked up full time could still be in his future.
Overstreet hasn’t let the news get him down. He has been spending ample amounts of time with Emma Roberts. They have been rumored to be dating since mid-April. Emma and Chord attended Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine Carnival together and caught making out. (Click HERE for more on that…) Things appear to be getting serious as he high tailed it to London after finishing ‘Glee Live! In Concert‘ tour to be with Roberts.
