Ryan Phillippe presumably became a dad for the third time last Friday when his ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp gave birth to a baby girl. Phillippe was reportedly by her side during the birth of nearly 8-pound Kai on July 1st, even though it has not been proven yet that he is the father (he was waiting until after the birth to take the paternity test). Knapp has previously said she doesn’t expect him to take responsibility for the child.
Per In Touch Weekly:
Alexis was due to give birth a week before, but on June 30, doctors induced labor so she could have the baby. “It was a smooth delivery if a little late,” a pal says.
Knapp reportedly told her friends that he was the father of the child way back when she first found out she was pregnant. She was said to be “really excited to be a mom,” while Phillippe on the other hand has been pretty silent about the situation. It seems like he is already taking some significant responsibility here, accompanying a very-pregnant Alexis all over town a few weeks ago as she prepared for the birth of the baby. The two were also snapped together in late June arriving at a doctor’s appointment. We’re guessing Phillippe has an inkling that the kiddo she was carrying is in fact his. So, we won’t be surprised if the paternity is announced in a few weeks time and he is indeed the father. Then, we’ll just have January Jones’ baby to speculate over. (Who on Earth could the father of that child be?!)
