What we would do without the National Enquirer’s endless supply of “sources” aka hobos paid in fried chicken and “insiders” aka a set intern’s cousin willing to be paid in packs of Winston lights? The tab is running with a story that Will Smith and Trey Songz are enjoying a casual gay love affair. The rag insinuated the bromance based on the two sharing a VIP table at the Angels with Hearts charity event and following it with a dinner in South Beach. Seriously.

“Recent reports claimed that in early August, Will, 42, surprised Jada, 39, at the couple’s Calabasas, Calif., mansion and discovered her with her “HawthoRNe” co-star, Marc Anthony, who recently split from Jennifer Lopez. The celebrity couple strongly denied the report.
And now, tongues are wagging that Will is enjoying a “bromance” with R&B artist Trey Songz, who’s been the subject of gay whispers himself.
On Aug. 18, the “Men in Black” star sat a a VIP table with Trey during an event at The Setai’s penthouse in Miami’s trendy South Beach – and the two reportedly hooked up again the following evening to enjoy dinner and the local nightlife.
Troy Taylor, a record exec and mentor to the singer, told THE ENQUIRER: “I know that Trey and Will have been friends for a very long time, but I can’t speak to the nature of their relationship. It’s none of my business.”
I am guessing they built this story on the long standing rumor that both Jada Pinkett and Will are gay and their entire marriage is beard contract. These rumors reheated after In Touch reported the two were separating. A blind item also made its way through the gossip mill and suggested that Smiths are in fact on troubled marriage waters and will soon be splitting to be with their gay lovers. For the most part the Enquirer isn’t a credible news source. I’m not saying they don’t have some credible information but for the most they don’t. Troy Taylor doesn’t give me the impression he would speak on the nature of anyone’s relationship.

I am gay and have been a self-identified gay man for many years. In the 90′s while at a Maxwell concert @ Radio City I met a man who I began a relationship with for a while. As we got to know each other, he would tell me stories about his family history etc…one stands out in my mind…even today…his sister went to school with Jada Pinket, who ‘came out’ to his sister at that time.
A bonafide ‘straight person’ does not make the ‘choice’ to be gay, why would they? It’s not who they are and there’s no need to as there is no stigma or negative impact on one’s career in Hollywood. BUT, when one is gay, even today, the game changes and many people in Hollywood are advised to live a so-called ‘straight lifestyle. That does not make them straight, just because they live that lifestyle.
Usually, not always, bu usually, where there’s smoke there’s fire. There are many people we never hear gay rumors about and that’s because they really ARE STRAIGHT. Hollywood acting careers are high-stakes and to maintain the cache & status of an ‘A’ list movie star there are a set of rules that apply. As an ‘out’ person, I feel it’s a very high price to pay and one day there will be many regrets. After all, when you place your head on your pillow at night to sleep, the real truth will be there and you can’t run from it. Why does it matter if these guys are gay or not. If they are, I wish them the best. If there not, I feel for them having to deal with the rumors, gossip & steriotypes. I eat my dinner with my 4 dogs.
