Do we have a new Hollywood It couple on our hands? Over the weekend newly single Jennifer Lopez had dinner with Bradley Cooper, and kicking rumors of a romance into high gear. The two reportedly dined for two hours at Per Se, an upscale restaurant at Columbus Circle in New York City on Saturday night. Sources told TMZ that the dinner was “romantic” and it was just the two of them.
Note to self: Do not mess with Terrence Howard or his wife. Howard recently called up stranger’s phone and allegedly threatened to kill them. RadarOnline is reporting that Howard left a voicemail that went a little something like this:
Does Lady Gaga have a new main man? Rumor has it she’s dating the hot actor from her ‘You and I‘ music video, ‘The Vampire Diaries’ Taylor Kinney. He played the mad scientist love interest of Gaga in the video, and the pair was spotted spending Labor Day Weekend together in Mission Viejo California. A source close to Gaga tells People Magazine that the pair is “hooking up.”
The solo debut album from “the next great pop Piano Man” Gabe Dixon (Paste) is available now, both digitally and in stores. When did you first realize you had an interest in music and what sparked that interest?
I guess I was about six when I first started falling for music. I think it was the song “Oh Little Town Of Bethlehem.” Something about the melody and the harmony together just hooked me and I learned to play it on the piano.
How did you get started in the music industry?
When I was 12, I joined a teen country boy-band as one of the lead singers. …yeah. It was pretty funny. We had a record deal and everything! I wasn’t all that into the music, but it gave me my first experiences singing in the recording studio, traveling on a tour bus, and being in music videos and photo shoots. We had some pretty rabid female fans too. I was a teenage boy, so that didn’t suck for me!
What drives and inspires you to do what you love?
The feeling I get from doing it. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than playing my own music. I feel like it’s what I’m supposed to be doing.
Do you find it easy to sing and perform? Does it come naturally for you?
Yes. I was a shy kid. I’m still kind of shy, I guess, so it has taken some time to get comfortable with being the center of attention in some situations, but I have performed enough now to know how to be a performer on stage.
Besides music, what are some of your favorite things to do?
I like running and biking. I have a baby boy now too, so I like spending time with him. We have a ridiculous amount of fun together! Have you ever had a conversation that consisted of nothing but the phrase “ew, yucky!” followed by laughter… over and over again for 5 straight minutes? Let me tell ya, it’s pretty freaking fun.
If you had the chance to work or record with anyone, who would you choose?
Well, I’ve already had the pleasure of playing with some of my favorite artists: Paul McCartney, Alison Krauss, Supertramp, Loggins & Messina, and tons of others, but there are so many people I’d love to collaborate with. Derek Trucks, The Wood Brothers, John Mayer, Butterfly Boucher, to name a few. I’m starting to form my ideal “supergroup” in my mind.
How would you describe the sound of your music?
I hear it differently than anyone else, so I’m not sure what value my opinion has. I guess I would describe it as honest, true, musical, melodic, emotional… I don’t think there is any pretense in it. I know how powerful music can be, so I try to tap into that. I’ll leave it to the listeners to describe it further…
How do you feel that you’re different from other artists in your genre?
I guess there aren’t that many piano-player singers in the rock/pop genre. I have a pretty wide variety of musical influences which gives me my own unique style and sets me apart. There are songs on this album that might surprise people who think it’s just another rock/pop record.
What are some of your short-term and long-term goals you have lined out for your solo career?
First, I want as many people as possible to hear this album because I’m really proud of it. I think the success of this album will help determine what I do next.
What are your upcoming plans for promoting your music?
I’ll be on Jimmy Kimmel’s show in September and then I’ll be on tour with Ten Out Of Tenn, which is a group of ten singer/songwriters out of Nashville, TN who will tour for 3 weeks playing on each others songs and helping spread the word about each other’s music. After that, I might spend some time performing in the UK. The calendar is still being filled.
