A story that Adele has throat cancer has sprung from gossip mill. Twitter seems to be the source of the rumor. #PRAYFORADELE became a huge trending topic on Twitter last night appears to have sparked the concern.
Earlier this month, the ‘Someone Like You‘ songstress was forced to cancel the American leg of her tour. She sourced laryngitis as the cause of her vocal problems preventing her from performing. (Click HERE for that announcement…) Yesterday the news that Adele will be undergoing surgery on her throat. Columbia Records released a statement confirming the operation and the cancellation of all live dates through the end of the year.
As for the cancer aspect…the label asserts that the surgery is just to “to alleviate the current issues with her throat.” A rep also confirmed that the issue is located on her vocal chord and Adele DOES NOT have cancer.
“We would like to reiterate that Adele is to undergo surgery for a hemorrhaged vocal chord. All reports regarding any other condition are 100 percent false.”
