Giuliana Rancic is a fighter… for real. Giuliana and her husband Bill Rancic were back on the “Today Show” yesterday to talk about the developments in her breast cancer battle. Unfortunately the double lumpectomy and radiation idea weren’t enough for the aggressive cancer, so she’s decided on having both of her breasts removed.

“For me, it was important to get the cancer out. That’s what I wanted to do, just get it out. At the end, to be honest, all it came down to was just choosing to live, and not looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life.”
Totally understandable. On yesterday’s “Today” show, Giuliana said she just wanted to make sure she got rid of the cancer. And her husband agreed.
“Bill said to me, ‘I just need you around for the next 50 years, kid.’ He said, ‘I don’t care what you look like, I don’t care about the physical portion of this. I just need you around for the next 50 years.”
Giuliana underwent a double lumpectomy and radiation in October, but finally decided to undergo the more drastic procedure after consulting with a team of experts, “including top doctors, radiologists, women who’ve had mastectomies and women who’ve opted for alternative treatments, like lumpectomies, radiation and anti-estrogen therapy.” Still, she is optimistic that the recovery will go smoothly.
