Before your loins wither away, sobbing with grief, this “news” comes from In Touch. The magazine claims that Ryan Gosling is ready to propose to Eva Mendes.
The print edition is running on complete assumption. Their “sources” claim that Ryan is ready to marry Mendes after secretly dating for several months. They haven’t confirmed their relationship, but have displayed PDA on several dates. In September they turned heads at Disneyland, were spotted kissing in October and strolled through France in November. (This reminds me of an old card I once found in Uncle Wilberforce’s attic. It was entitled “The Week of Love.” Monday for meeting. Tuesday for talking. Wednesday for wishing. Thursday for touching. Friday, for some odd reason, had been blacked out with marker.)
The secretive couple spent New Year’s Eve together before Ryan took Eva to meet his mother. After a tête à tête, they all enjoyed a movie together. According to the rag, his mother approved and Gosling is ready to propose.
No confirmation from any reliable sources could back up their claim and reps “don’t comment on their client’s personal relationships.”
Ryan has a string of girlfriends he met on set. He talked about still being hung up on Rachel McAdams and Sandra Bullock in an interview in September of 2011 (via The Times):
“I’m in a committed relationship with film. I’m giving as much to it as a marriage. I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time (Sandra and Rachel). I haven’t met anyone who could top them. I’d like to be making babies, but I’m not, so I’m making movies. When someone comes along I don’t think I’ll be able to do both and I’m fine with that. I’ll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen.”
