The Patron Saint of Land O Lakes Stick Butter might have a chronic disease. According to the rumor churn, Paula Deen has Type 2 diabetes.
Don’t start weeping into a pot of deep fried macaroni and cheese or drown your sorrows in lasagna sandwiches. Paula is making HUGE money of the diagnosis according to The Daily. She has reportedly signed a multi-million dollar deal with a pharmaceutical company, Novartis.
“Paula Deen is going to have to reposition herself now that she has diabetes,” said one source. “She’s going to have to start cooking healthier recipes. She can’t keep pushing mac and cheese and deep-fried Twinkies when she is hawking a diabetes drug.”
Her reps are currently in a bacon fat coma, but reps for the drug company are denying any deals with Deen. Anthony Bourdain was one of the first to publicly point out that eating deep fried Ding Dongs wrapped in bacon and garnished with cotton candy isn’t a healthy snack and, accurately, stated Deen needs to “think twice before telling an already obese nation that it’s OK to eat food that is killing us.”
I’m with Bourdain on this – Deen is a nightmare & an opportunist. She didn’t tell anyone about her disease to keep her fat laden, southern food show popular & profitable. Then SUDDENLY, once she has a more profitable pharma deal – she announces her illness. I think her REAL illness maybe just plain greed . . . . .
