The lovely ginger from ‘Sex and the City’ sported a shaved head on ‘Live With Kelly’ and sent hands to pearls for a quick clutch. Cynthia Nixon is bald thanks to her dedication for a role on Broadway.
Nixon is taking her role in ‘Wit’ to heart…and head. She is plays a woman who has been diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer, Dr. Vivian Bearing. The role is close to heart as she has battled breast cancer. About 5 years ago Cynthia was diagnosed and, thankfully, it was not metastatic.

“The five-year thing is the kind of magical marker you try to reach once you’re diagnosed. My mother has battled breast cancer three times. For me, I knew they caught it very early. It wasn’t metastatic. I had been through it with my mother and seen others around me go through it so I knew what to expect. It wasn’t fun, but it didn’t seem like a death sentence. Knock on wood. It hasn’t been so far.”
