Jessica Simpson Stole Christian Louboutin Design

That title should have an obligatory “?” behind it, but it is painfully obvious that Jessica Simpson’s ‘Evangel’ pump is the basement baby twin of Christian Louboutin’s ‘Staratata.’

A site called the Cellar Paper put on their monocle to do a little detective work on bootlegged designs. The fashion BILLIONARE (seriously…how does someone outsmarted by a can of tuna become a billionaire?!) is featured in one of Elle magazine’s ads wearing heels that look exactly like the 2010 Louboutin creation. Perhaps Simpson’s shoe might have a lighter blue hue and a more burnt orange detailing (lighting issue?), but it looks like her brand didn’t even try to hide the copycat factor. In fact, the only obvious difference seems to be the price tag. Jess’ version will cost you $98 while Christian’s signature red sole will cost nearly $1,000.

Jessica won’t be the first or last to have designs that look like they are un-apologetically “stolen” from another designer. There is a rather unscrupulous practice called “shop and copy” in the business and this might be a prime example.

  1. just saying says:

& you know what its no big deal.. People that can afford the red soled shoe can still ahve them & show they have wealth while the normal folks that don’t have the money can still feel like they have a piece of LOUBOUTIN. this is crazy. Take a look at all fashions on the market & everyone has knocks offs for the common folk that can’t afford extravagnace. Its a non issuse & if your going to blast Jessica then start looking at others too. The last couple of days the attacks & scrutniy on Jessica is rediculous. I don’t knwo a garment made that hasn’t taken someones idea in another direction. NO one can honestly say it was truly there design from ground up. Deal with it. There is room for all fashion.. its about people feeling good in what there wearing & what they can afford.
