Lindsay Lohan Confirmed to Play Elizabeth Taylor in Biopic

Despite being involved in a hit and run, getting into two bar fights and looking unfortunate at Coachella, Lifetime still thinks it’s a good idea to let the Empress of the Hot Mess play a coveted American icon.

The network confirmed that Lindsay Lohan will be playing Elizabeth Taylor in their made-for-tv-movie, ‘Liz and Dick.’ The feature will detail the romance between Richard Burton and the late Elizabeth Hilton Wilding Todd Fisher Burton Burton Warner Fortensky Taylor.

Executive producer Larry Thompson confirmed the negotiations have finally ended:

“We have wanted Lindsay from day one. She had a lot in her life that was going on. We needed to give her time to take care of her business, and while we negotiated the deal for her we prayed for her—and wonderfully she has behaved. She’s cleared herself and we’re ready to start this movie.

We truly feel that Lindsay Lohan is perfect for Elizabeth Taylor for our movie….I think Lindsay—who is very gifted—deserved another chance. We never, of three pages of ‘what if’s’ in the negotiation, there never was ‘what if she can’t act.’ We know she can act.”

Lindsay gushed to Us Weekly about how excited she is to have a paycheck that doesn’t require her to take her top off or wear a rubber dress while beating some old guy with a scrub brush for a budget porn.

“I have always admired and had enormous respect for Elizabeth Taylor. She was not only an incredible actress but an amazing woman as well. I am very honored to have been asked to play this role.”

Lifetime’s Executive VP Rob Sharenow added:

“We are thrilled Lindsay will portray beloved Hollywood legend Elizabeth Taylor,” said “She is one of the rare actresses who possesses the talent, beauty and intrigue to capture the spirit of such a provocative icon.”
