Patrick Dempsey Rescues Teen in Car Crash

Patrick Dempsey is outdoing Ryan Gosling’s ability to break up a street fight by saying, “Hey Girl, let’s all get along. Here is $20 and a smile you can use for future impure thoughts.” The tv doc who earned the nickname McDreamy, helped save a teen who was trapped in his car after flipping it outside of Pat’s Malibu digs.

The actor who drove into our hearts shirtless on a lawn mower in 1987 sprang into action and used a crowbar to pry a teen, Weston Massett, out his car after he rolled his Mustang and landed hood-down. Dempsey was able to free him from the car and get him to safety seconds before it exploded. (Ok, the explosion didn’t happen, but I am having a Michael Bay moment with this story.) He did call for help and stayed with the teen until he was airlifted to a hospital where he was treated for a concussion and an eye injury.

Seeing TV’s Dr. Derek Shepherd standing before him at the crash site, Masset asked Dempsey, ” ‘Are you famous?’ ” Replied the actor: “Yeah, I’m a doctor.”

Tag that with some awesome mixed with a little, Wait…does he actually think he is doctor? No, of course not! and a nervous giggle. After he ran his fingers through his McMane, he called the teen’s mother to let her know that her son was in crash, but all is well and he is in the skilled hands of Patrick Farking Dempsey

“He had a certain authority in his voice,” said a “super-grateful” Mary Beth Masset. “I asked if he was a paramedic and he said, ‘No, this is Patrick Dempsey.’ I thought, ‘McDreamy?’ “

Some people have all the luck. The only celebrity encounter I have had was the time Steven Seagal sneezed on me while shopping at Abercrombie and Fitch in 2001. True story.
