Some rumors were floating around that ‘Twilight’ was going to get a reboot. Hollywood is all out of ideas, but this is a horrid, horrid notion.
Lionsgate (parent co. of Summit) has denied that any plans to reboot the 2008 ‘Twilight’ film are being planned. The buzz stated that the studio wanted to remake the film for a 5th anniversary.
Merciful baby Jesus has flown down on chariot of truth to slay these rumors via a statement Rob Friedman made to Deadline:
“We are not remaking Twilight. We will happily support Stephenie Meyer if she decides to proceed in any way. But this will be the last one, unless that should change.”
This had little to zero merit as Lionsgate is currently hard at work on its latest box office golden child, ‘The Hunger Games.’ The sequel is currently in motion and casting theories are running rampant. Click HERE to see who was offered the role of the new Gamemaker, Plutarch Heavensbee.
HOWEVER, Rob if you read that statement carefully it does squash the reboot rumor, BUT it leaves it open for a future remake that will hinge on Stephenie Meyer’s choice.
We’re doomed. Facepalm.
