Hollywood's Grand Dame of Gossip and Style
We’ve all fallen victim to drunk dialing. That moment at 2am – you’re home from the bar and you start playing with your phone, when it suddenly becomes a really good idea to phone up an ex and tell them that you love them still. Ashlee Simpson has the same problem, according to US Weekly, reportedly calling her ex Pete Wentz to try and win him back after having one too many.
“Jessica’s Mission: Save Ashlee!” According to another so-called “insider” for Star Magazine who claims Jessica Simpson is on a mission to save her sister Ashlee Simpson from self-destructing with alcohol, and told her to turn her angst into songwriting.
Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are looking a whole lot like a family again! In February, they were whistling a different tune after shocking everyone when Ashlee filed for divorce from Pete. Wentz, however, didn’t agree with the decision. He even still wore his wedding ring after the split, and seemed to be still trying to win Ashlee back even though she’s dating his friend, Craig Owens. But last week, a photog snapped a pic of the estranged couple – with their 2-year-old son Bronx in tow – holding hands and flirting while making a Starbucks run and shopping at an L.A. mall.
Per People:
“Ashlee and Pete held hands, and Pete especially looked very happy,” an onlooker says. “While waiting for their drinks, Pete had his arm around Ashlee and they definitely looked like a couple again.” Added the onlooker: “Ashlee kept smiling and lovingly leaned on Pete.”
The pair also held hands briefly on their way back to the car, with Ashlee balancing a tray of coffees and Pete carrying the couples son. The question has been raised more than once since their surprise split and here we are again, wondering if the impending divorce has been called off. Good news if it’s true – Like California’s divorce rates needs to get ANY higher! But despite their upbeat demeanor, another source says that their outing last week, or past and future ones like it, doesn’t mean the two are reconciling.
“This is not a sign that they are getting back together,” the source says. “They both care about each other tremendously. They both love Bronx very much, and Ashlee has always called Pete her best friend. They are in the middle of still trying to figure this out.”
Fair enough if they are but if they are not, then hats off to them for being so amicable and getting on well for the sake of their son. It doesn’t happen often.

It’s the new Mr. Simpson! Ok, well not exactly, but it’s another musician Ashlee Simpson seems to be fond of. The short of it is: His name is Craig Owens and he was working with Ashlee’s soon-to-be ex husband Pete Wentz. He has been in a number of bands you may or may not have heard of and has had some troubles in the past but apparently is pretty talented or at least that is what Pete said prior to seeing him shopping with Ashlee where he reportedly was tucking his arm around her shoulders and leaning over to give her a smooch on the lips. What ever happened to people taking some time after a break-up before hooking up with someone new?
In January of last year, Pete told MTV News that Owens, who is signed to Wentz’s Decaydence label, was his favorite new artist. Then Wentz even tweeted to that in February they “will be partners in crime soon.” But in June last year he denied rumors that Owens was joining his post-Fall Out Boy band Black Cards. Pete did say, however, that Owens had some “amazing new songs”. But this was all BEFORE Owens was seen doing a little ‘canoodling’ at the mall with Ashlee recently.

“Pete did a lot for this guy,” a Wentz source tells UsMagazine.com. “Craig was in another band and got kicked out. Pete found Craig, built a band around him and signed him. He’s shocked at how this guy is repaying him.”
They’ve only been separated a month and nothing is even legal yet -As if Pete’s life isn’t difficult enough, not he has to see his protege get some serious face time with his wife. Definitely a bitch move on her part! But a source close to Ashlee says reports of a romance with Owens are just not true, claiming the whole over-used ‘just a friend who is comforting her through this difficult time’ excuse. The divorce is on and that is all we have for now but this guy very well may have been the culprit. Hasn’t he ever heard of ‘The Bro-Code?’

It appears not all splits are amicable!
According to papers filed in LA court today, rocker Pete Wentz does not agree with his soon to be ex-wife’s request that she have primary custody of the two’s son, Bronx.
TMZ reveals that Wentz’s response to Simpson’s initial divorce documents states that he wants joint legal and physical custody of the 2 year-old.
Though Simpson did not list a date as to when the couple split, Wentz lists the end of the marriage as February 9, just days after Wentz returned home from a Simpson-less trip to Dallas to attend the Superbowl.

It was announced recently that Ashlee Simpson was filing for divorce from her baby-daddy Pete Wentz and now the rumors are flying! First there were reports that Ashlee’s overbearing father was a big cause for the split along with Pete’s absence from home because of his tour schedule. Now it’s getting a little more scandalous!

In the latest dish on the divorce, The National Enquirer is reporting that Pete Wentz had a problem with prescription pills, which is another factor in the split.
A source tells the mag, “Pete Wentz is hooked on a handful of prescription drugs including Ambien, Xanax, and Oxycontin. Ashlee realized that Pete had become a functioning addict and that he wasn’t making any effort to quit.”
Simpson filed for divorce on Feb. 9th from what new reports are saying so that she could protect her son Bronx Mowgli. The couple was together just less than three years. Ashlee is reportedly living with her sister, Jessica Simpson, while she works through the tough times but seems to want to keep a cordial relationship with Wentz for her babies sake.

A few media outlets are tackling the reasons behind divorce of Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz.
Us Weekly says that Ashlee has turned into a vodka monster and is now a groupie for a ring of pro-skateboarders. The source-types who wove this tale for the mag stated that Ashlee was out drinking with the skate hoodlums until the wee hours of the morning for several months. Pete then got a case of the hypocritical sluts and got “burnt out” from keeping tabs on Simpson. (Pete was photographed on several occasions partying with strippers after concerts. “On the road with his band, he “would constantly check in on Ashlee, and he’d have his friends call the house and her cell to make sure she said she was where she said she was going to be,” an insider explains. “He felt like he couldn’t trust her.”
Page Six‘s sources say Ashlee is tired of Pete partying like a rock star and thought he’d change after their dream Hot Topic wedding.
“One source said, “Ashlee has been unhappy for a while. Pete continued living the life of a rock star, hanging out late, going to clubs, posing for the paparazzi . . . She wants her life and her career back.”
Another rumor is that Creepy Papa Joe was to blame. Popeater reports that more snitches shared that Joe “wants to be the only man” in his daughter’s lives. (Hence the Creepy.)
“Just like when Jessica split from Nick, Joe is doing nothing to encourage Ashlee to give the marriage another try, if only for the sake of her son,” an insider tells me. “Joe likes being the only man in his daughters’ lives and is happy that Ashlee has moved back into his home [in Encino, Calif.], just like Jessica did after she announced she was leaving Nick.”
This is 6 different kinds of gross. However, my powers of deduction and constant reports of Ashlee bailing on Pete led me to believe that it’s a combination of all the tales. Despite Ashlee Simpson filing for divorce last week, she and soon to be ex-husband Pete Wentz spent time together at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Valentine’s day. They dined at the Polo Lounge after arriving in the same car and left together after finishing off their lunch.
Ashlee held Bronx’s hand while keeping her head down upon seeing paparazzi. She was also sporting bleach blonde hair in addition to a super short new cut.
It’s good to see them remaining friendly for their son’s sake. Simpson is still staying with Papa Joe and company in their Encino home.

Ashlee Simpson has filed for divorce from Eyeliner Mclovin’ Pete Wentz. She filed the documents in L.A. County Superior Court and cited “irreconcilable differences.”
Ashlee and Pete have managed to keep things relatively quiet lately. They have faced divorce rumors in the past as Wentz reportedly cheated on her several times. (Click HERE for the photos of Pete with strippers…)
Simpson is seeking joint legal custody and primary custody of their 2 year old son, Bronx. She is also after spousal and child support. Word is that there is no prenup and being that Ashlee’s career is…well…non-existent this won’t be too big of a blow for her.
