Marc Jacobs Taking Over Dior

After John Galliano got Lindsay Lohan drunk and became a belligerent mess on an anti-Semite tirade circa Mel Gibson, he was fired from Dior. (Here is where I point out the Kate Moss used her nose as a cocaine Dirt Devil and eventually got to keep her job.) A replacement for the flat ironed Hitler fan is still in the works, but Marc Jacobs is said to be winning that race.

Taylor Swift has been crowned a Covergirl. Swift will rep the makeup’s new line of lux products called Covergirl NatureLuxe.

Lara Stone’s Banned Calvin Klein Billboard Ad – PHOTO

Lara Stone’s ad for Calvin Klein has been banned in Australia. Since everyone has gone all sex maniac and/or beat your lady crazy (thanks a lot Tiger Woods, Jesse James, Mel Gibson, Chris Brown, kids from Glee), bureaus and councils have gone into alert-the-church-elders overdrive.

Australia’s Advertising Standards Bureau is the latest to nix an ad that they felt conveyed “violence and rape” and found the CK billboard was “demeaning women.”

Jessica Simpson Refuses to Use Professional Models

I adore how blissfully ignorant Jessica Simpson is. She is easily impressed with big words like delicatessen and bourgeoisie. So when I heard she was refusing to use uber-thin models I was a bit proud of her for snubbing the sickly thin look and using “normal” women to show her line at Fashion Week in New York.

Then I heard she was just using her friends to do the job and the brief air of appreciation fizzled.

“Jessica plans to host a private presentation to preview her spring 2011 apparel and accessories collection, and showcase her new denim line using 8 of her best friends as models. Enlisting the likes of sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and close friend Cacee Cobb.”

So basically she is giving her besties some work. Meh, I still share her love of corndogs and I believe that makes us kindred spirits.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt Start Clothing Line

St. Angelina Jolie has found another way to help out the needy children of the world. CLOTHES!!!

Jolie and Brad Pitt are said to be designing a children clothing line. All the cash they make on dressing the future Chaz Bono’s of America will go to their charity they set up.

“Rumors are circulating that the pair are designing a line of children’s clothes, the profits of which will be donated to their charity, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. No details have emerged as yet, but its not the first time that the couple have got creative – they designed some luxe pieces of jewellery for Asprey last year.”

T.J. Maxx’s Save the Children Benefit Auction

T.J. Maxx hosted the Teen Choice Awards gifting lounge at Magic Castle in Hollywood, CA on August 4 and 5, 2010 to support Save the Children U.S. Programs.

The event celebrated the 26 year partnership between T.J.Maxx and Save the Children, which has raised over $14 million dollars since 1984. T.J.Maxx stores nationwide are selling specially designed reusable tote bags featuring original children’s artwork. Each bag is $0.99, and all profits from the sale of these bags will go to Save the Children’s U.S. Programs.

From August 9 to August 16, the celebrity-autographed bags will be auctioned off on eBay to raise funds and awareness for Save the Children, a program that supports early childhood development, literacy and health programs in the United States.

Naomi Campbell Going BALD !?!

While doing a fashion shoot for designer Dennis Basso in New York, Noami Campbell was photographed with a balding scalp. Years of weaves, glue, tape and being a neurotic overlord of the model world has taken its toll on Campbell’s head. The Daily Mail went a tapped an expert to get his view as to why she is facing baldness.

Trichologist to the stars Philip Kingsley said tight hair styles, pony tails, hard brushing and hair extensions could all lead to traction hair loss.

‘The old-fashion hair extensions were put in by weaving threads which had hairs attached to them between the natural hair,’ he said.’They were weaved next to the scalp and tightly knotted at each end to secure them. Because of their proximity to the scalp, the thread, which the hair knotted onto it, rubbed on the scalp, caused irritation, consequently making it sore and sometimes breaking the skin.’

I vote she just shaves it and goes for the aerodynamic look. It will make stealth attacks on her minions far more productive.

Scarlett Johansson’s Dolce and Gabbana Make Up Ads – PHOTOS

The first reaction to Scarlett Johansson’s new Dolce and Gabbana ads is HOLY AIRBRUSH BATMAN! They could have put a blond wig on a broom and let photoshop do the rest.

Is it just me or does the blue shadow photo make her look like Naomi Watts? She is naturally gorgeous, I don’t understand why they airbrushed her so much.

Dolce and Gabbana Cocktail and Bars in STORES!!!

It’s like the marriage of peanut butter and jelly or Hoverounds and Wal-Mart…bars and shopping! While other designers are diversifying into electronic gadgets or and toilet seat covers for hotels, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are teaming up with Bacardi to bring you booze and shopping!

“Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana have teamed up with Bacardi’s vermouth brand Martini to launch their first co-branded drink this month in a rare diversification move for the fashion duo. As part of their partnership with Martini, the designers have opened bars at their stores in Milan and Shanghai and launched a menswear line. Privately-owned Bermuda-based Bacardi, which owns the Martini vermouth brand, will produce and sell the drink.”

This is genius. Bars in high end retail stores should have been Obama’s first idea for an economic stimulus.
