Are The Black Eyed Peas Breaking Up ?!

There are rumors of an impending breakup after the Black Eyed Peas pulled out of last weekend’s Michael Jackson tribute concert in England due to “unavoidable circumstances.” U.K.’s Mirror newspaper cites an unnamed source who says “Pulling out of this weekend’s gig is the final curtain call for them – especially as they’re all such huge Jacko fans. Things have been taking a turn for the worse over the past few months but this signals the end.” NME reports the Black Eyed Peas are preparing to announce they will be permanently splitting up – They had already announced an “indefinite hiatus” July, although will.i.am “insisted it was just a break” on Twitter.

Lady Gaga Banned From Malaysia for ‘Gay’ Lyrics ?!

Malaysian radio stations are banning lines from Lady Gaga ‘s “Born This Way” from airing because they think it’s “gay” message is harmful to the public. Many popular stations have replaced lyrics with garbble that you can’t understand because they say it’s offensive.

The line ‘No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I’m on the right track, baby,‘ has been taken out because the mostly-Muslim country has laws they say may be violate “good taste or decency or (are) offensive to public feeling.”

Per MSNBC:

“The particular lyrics in ‘Born This Way’ may be considered as offensive when viewed against Malaysia’s social and religious observances,” the company said in a statement to The Associated Press. “The issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a ‘taboo’ by general Malaysians.”

Broadcasters could face up to $16,000 in fines if they are found guilty of violating these laws. Malaysian gay rights activist Pang Khee Teik said the media should be “a platform for marginalized voices and create understanding – not perpetuate ignorance and hate.” He continued by saying that Lagy Gaga should help protest and tell stations to not even play her song at all. In recent years, gay Malaysians have tried to press for greater acceptance, but clearly discrimination persists. File this under ‘Ironic, isn’t it?’ as this was the very message that Lady Gaga was attempting to address in the censored lyrics.

Malaysia has in the past banned a few Kylie Minogue music videos, and Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas covered up more than usual for a 2009 show there. Beyonce was also asked to tone down her show for a 2009 date that was later postponed.

Top 10 Disney Stars Gone Bad

#10. Hilary Duff

Hilary is probably one of the Disney prodigies who has managed to keep her nose clean. She started with Mickey’s network on the show Lizzie McGuire before moving into movies and singing. Her career did hit some pitfalls. In her early teens she reportedly fell victim to an eating disorder after the pressures of body image became too much. According to Us Weekly it was her sister who saved her from the downward spiral.

“It made me obsessed,” she [says] of the story that drove her into a hard-core diet and exercise binge. “I would beat myself up if I had some fat.” But when the 5-foot-2 star’s weight plummeted to around 100 pounds in 2005 (down from 130 in 2003), her sister Haylie, 22, finally intervened.”

#9. Shia LaBeouf

Disney alumni, Shia LaBeouf, started his career with the series ‘Even Stevens.’ He is still keeping his career alive, but not without trouble. In 2007 he had a drunken debacle in a Chicago Walgreens which resulted in his arrest. Almost a year later he was involved in a car accident that the LA County Sheriff’s Dept. announced was not Shia’s fault, but they did smell alcohol on his breath and he refused to take a breathalyzer. On Feb. 5, 2011 he again had an alcohol fueled fiasco. While at Mad Bull’s Tavern bar in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles. A fight broke out and Shia managed to escape official charges but was punched mouth.

#8. Fergie

Remember Kids Incorporated? Stacy Ferguson was a member of the “rock group” that dealt with everything from having a crush to child abuse at the hangout “The P*lace.” She went on to perform with a girl group and eventually found fame with the Black Eyed Peas. But after her stint on Disney and time with the girl band, the straight A student/cheerleader/spelling bee champion and Girl Scout developed an addiction to meth. She talked with Time magazine about her struggle with the drug.

“It was the hardest boyfriend I ever had to break up with,” she says. “It’s the drug that’s addicting. But it’s why you start doing it in the first place that’s interesting. A lot of it was being a child actor; I learned to suppress feelings.”

#7. Vanessa Hudgens

Nude photos are now synonymous with Vanessa Hudgens. She found fame after ‘High School Musical’ launched her into a household name. In 2007 personal nude photos of the starlet spread over the net like wildfire. She photographed herself in barely-there lingerie and exposed herself in pics that were allegedly meant for her then boyfriend, Zac Efron. In 2008 another set of incriminating photos showed her and Zac shopping in Sex Toy store. Her boobs made another internet stop in 2009 after a new set of leaked cell phone photos proved she didn’t learn her lesson the first time. Vanessa has managed to sweep off the negative press and continue her career, but it still haunts her when it comes to offers. She told Allure magazine that it’s always a factor.

“Whenever anybody asks me, would I do nudity in a film, if I say that it’s something I’m not comfortable with, they’re like, ‘Bullshit, you’ve already done it.’ If anything, it makes it more embarrassing, because that was a private thing. It’s screwed up that someone screwed me over like that. At least some people are learning from my mistake.”

#6. Christina Aguilera

Xtina was one of the success stories from the reboot of Mickey Mouse Club. She soon became one of the opposition to the Britney Spears machine. After playing the ‘bad girl’ to Spears’ virginal role model she seemed to be cashing in on sex appeal from the start. Now, Aguilera is constantly spray painted orange and facing an alleged problem with alcohol. After her announcement of her divorce to Jordan Bratman she has been found passed out drunk in Jeremy Renner’s bed after showing up to his birthday bash uninvited, picking fights at the Golden Globes and screwing up the lyrics to the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Current rumor is that Christina’s staff wants to organize an intervention, but backed off on the plans Aguilera threatened to fire anyone who took part.

#5. Demi Lovato

Demi Lovato enjoyed breakout roles came from Disney. Her ‘Camp Rock’ days led to a movie and her own Disney show, ‘Sonny With a Chance.’ She seemed to have a quicker fall than her fellow cohorts, but is facing issues that seem equally as deep. Demi has been allegedly cutting herself as well as battling drug addictions, issues with alcohol and eating disorders. This all culminated in late 2010 after the starlet suffered a meltdown that resulted in Demi punching a back up dancer and landed her in rehab. Since then she seems to be genuine in her efforts towards recovery.

#4. Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus became the Queen of Disney with Hannah Montana Empire. She also has a lap dancing video, a bong smoking video, underage drinking photos, a string of alleged nude photos and outfits that would make hookers question the taste level. She has managed to keep herself out of rehab and jail, but judging from her father’s interview with GQ it’s only a matter of time.

#3. Lindsay Lohan

You only have to say her name to immediately think rehab, booze and terrible jewelry thieving skills. Lindsay Lohan can thank Disney’s rebooted version of ‘Parent Trap’ for her breakout success. Since then she has faced eating disorder rumors, cutting scars and a slew of legal trouble. She is in court more often than she is at work lately and creates a red flag everywhere she goes.

1-2. Britney Spears

She is worthy of two spots. Britney Spears rose fast and high only to fall equally as fast and twice as hard. She started as a Mouseketeer before she started her mogul machine. She seemingly started the race a mile ahead of Christina Aguilera and Jessica Simpson in the pop princess brigade. Britney operated on the wholesome virgin image while poorly hiding the fact that she enjoying boyfriends, weed and alcohol. This was just the beginning and almost innocent compared to her later antics involving a public meltdown that involved shaving her head. She has also managed to reheat her career and launch a comeback that is still enjoying stellar sales and a following that hasn’t lost much speed.

Hollywood Dame Exclusive Interview – Black Eyed Pea’s Taboo

Taboo is a founding member of the six-time Grammy Award-winning group The Black Eyed Peas. A Mexican-American with Shoshone blood on his mother’s side, Jaime Luis Gomez defied expectations early on—first by rejecting the limitations imposed on him by society, then by staying true to his dream of becoming a star. In ‘FALLIN’ UP: My Story‘ (Touchstone Hardcover/Simon & Schuster; February 8, 2011; $24.99; ISBN: 978-1-4391-9206-1), he tells the riveting story of his journey from the drug crime-ridden neighborhoods of L.A. to the packed performance sites around the world.

During a childhood spent moving between el barrio and the mixed-race community where his beloved grandmother lived, Taboo fell under the spell of the Spanish music his grandmother adored while at the same time embracing the pulse of hip hop. By the time he entered his teens, Taboo was an agile break dancer; he’d perfected all the floating, gliding, and sliding moves through hours of dedicated practice. In the Mexican-American community of Rosemead, where he eventually settled with his mother and stepfather, “no one…had ever heard of a Mexican b-boy. I was a hip-hop kid in a community where there was no such thing as hip-hop kids.” Taboo, the tag he first used when doodling in school, represented the path he was forging for himself—“Off-limits. Unspeakable. Something forbidden. Something non-conformist.”

Taboo built his skills—and his street cred—at hip-hop venues throughout L.A. It was at a hip-hop club that he first saw will.i.am, “an eccentric-looking black kid rapping like a madman” and apl.de.ap, “a Filipino dude dancing better than I had ever seen anyone dance…” In 1995, the three came together as The Black Eyed Peas, and right from the start, the group stood out: “[We] didn’t subscribe to lyrics about crack dens and AK-47. We were…promoting more feel good, progressive hip-hop. We were about braggadocious hope, not braggadocious violence.”

As he traces the rise of The Black Eyed Peas, Taboo reveals the inner workings of the music business during the 1990s and 2000s. He introduces a host of well-known performers, from Flavor Flav, Eminem, and Gwen Stefani, to Sting, the Rolling Stones, U2 and the great James Brown. He brings to life the exhilaration of performing for audiences throughout the world and the overwhelming exhaustion of spending months on tour, far from home and family. He writes about the Peas’ first encounter with Stacy Ferguson and discusses with wit and insight her unique contributions to the popularity of the group. His description of the evolution of The Black Eyed Peas offer an unprecedented look at the shaping of their style as they stepped outside their hip-hop foundation and integrated elements from different musical traditions to create a sound all their own.

Behind the stories of Grammy Awards, platinum albums, sold-out concerts and other moments of triumph recorded in FALLIN’ UP, Taboo tells another, darker tale. He writes about his long neglect of the son he had at eighteen; Jaymie Dizon, the woman who eventually became his wife and the mother of his second son; and the addictions to drugs and alcohol that almost ended his career. In detailed accounts of his missteps and mistakes, including drunken episodes during and after concerts, he shines an unforgiving light on himself and recalls with love and thanks the critical support he received from Jaymie, his friends and family, and his fellow-band members when he finally decided to turn his life around.

On June 10, 2010 The Black Eyed Peas performed at the World Cup Kick-Off Celebration concert in South Africa; their latest album, “The Beginning,” was released in November 2010. They—and their millions of followers—anticipated another triumph when the group appeared during the halftime show at the Super Bowl on February 6, 2011. FALLIN’ UP provides the first inside look at the making of the band, is must-reading for fans old and new.

I had the chance to talk to Taboo about his new book, his halftime Superbowl show, and his new shoe line. You can read about that below.

Where did your inspirations come from to write your new book?

I think the biggest inspiration came from my grandmother. Not so much to write the book, but to become the person that I am. She always instilled in me to believe that you can achieve, and that’s the direct inspiration. The book is the perfect example of that. It talks about my growing up, being a young father, following my dreams, meeting Will and Apl, and the good times and the bad times of Black Eyed Peas. It’s something for everyone. Most of the stories are about me being Mexican-American and paying homage to that.

Your book is co-written by Steve Dennis. How did you meet him and who’s idea was it to write the book?

I meet and auditioned Steve Dennis when I was doing interviews with different writers. I went through four writers to see who best fit me, and it was him. It was my decision to write the book.

In your book, you open up about how meeting Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards helped you kick your drug addiction. How did that come about?

When I saw him, I was like ‘I don’t wanna be like that guy!’ It scared me seeing how he deteriorated, so it was ‘Yo, I wanna change my life!’ But it wasn’t exactly him that helped me kicked my drug addiction. It was March 27, 2007 when I was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, not alcohol. I was sitting in the jail cell thinking about all the people I hurt and disappointed like my wife, who was then my fiance, my family, and the Peas. I got out and called my manager and said ‘I want to change.’

In the book, you also mention how the Black Eyed Peas came about. How did you get hooked up with the others?

It was 1993 when I met Will and Apl at a place called Ballistics. We were really similar in our dance style and the way we dressed. We just connected and became a crew of friends called ‘Grass Roots.’ Will started the Black Eyed Peas and asked me to join. We performed all over LA trying to get the record companies to come to us instead of us coming to them.

You guys recently performed at the Superbowl in front of an audience of over 110 million people, and you guys nailed it. What did you do afterwards to celebrate your stellar performance?

I went back to the sky-box with my wife and kids, and then we went back to the hotel, ate dinner, and watched the playback on the internet.

What do you feel is in the future for the Black Eyed Peas?

We definitely want to tour. No dates are set yet, but we’re hoping to work something out for sometime later this year. We have a new single out called ‘Just Can’t Get Enough,’ and we just want to continue to make music.

When did Jamie Luis Gomez become Taboo?

In high school, when I was about 15. It’s a name that my friends gave me because it represented what I was living. I was a Mexican-American doing hip/hop, and in the community I was living in, things like interracial friendship and dating were considered taboo, and here I was friends with different cultures. My son Josh’s mother is African American and things like that just didn’t happen around there.

You’re going to become a 3rd time father in May this year. In the book, you talk about your extremely close relationship with your grandmother. How do you feel that carries over into what type of father you are to your sons?

Just being nurturing not only to their dreams, but to their needs and their aspirations as well. My son Josh wants to be a DJ as his career and I tell him that education comes first. My grandmother always told me how important education was because she was a teacher. She taught me how to be supportive and to give unconditional love.

In the book, we learn about your estranged relationship with your father and your brother. Is there any hope of reconciliation with them in the future?

I hope so. I’m mature enough to let bygones be bygones. I tried reaching out to my father but so far he hasn’t returned that. It’s been a while since I’ve talked with my brother as well. I’d like to put the past behind us and move on.

You currently have your own shoe line out. Can you tell us about that?

It’s Taboo Deltah and you can check it out at TabooDeltah.com to see the sneaker line. They’re available at Foot Action and the Womens’ line debuts on February 22nd.

The Black Eyed Peas have confirmed that their new single is “Just Can’t Get Enough.” The electro-ballad appears on their sixth studio album, ‘The Beginning,’ which is available on iTunes now.

The Peas have also just launched the “Don’t Miss A Beat” game on YouTube where fans can take part in a music video challenge spanning the group’s entire career. You can check that out here.

Black Eyed Peas Locked In For Super Bowl XLV Halftime Show

We can thank Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson for the last six years of mediocre Super Bowl halftime shows. Next year however, I gotta feeling you’ll notice a big difference – The Black Eyed Peas are the confirmed Super Bowl XLV halftime show headliners! Since the “wardrobe malfunction” of 2004, pressure from the FCC has forced networks to book more seasoned acts such as Paul McCartney, Prince and the Who. But it all changes as The Black Eyed Peas are set to take the stage at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas for Super Bowl XLV!

Per RollingStone:

“They could have picked anybody,” will.i.am tells Rolling Stone. “They could rock a million and get Cheap Trick. I love me some Cheap Trick, those motherf*****s is dope. But it says something that they picked us.”

No word yet on what songs the Peas will perform, but it’s sure to be one killer medley of hits! The only wardrobe malfunction we can expect to see is will.i.am‘s LEGO hat! Did you see that thing at the American Music Awards?! Comfortable? We think not…

Fergie Named ‘Woman of the Year’ By Glamour Magazine

Fergie is having a great 2010! And now, she’s been named as ‘Woman of the Year‘ by Glamour Magazine. What sets her apart from all of the other ladies and landed her the title? Fergie’s soaring vocals and sex appeal have made her an unstoppable musical force, both as a solo artist and with the Black Eyed Peas. She’s shown a real social conscience, working for causes from AIDS to cancer. Some of what you can read in the December issue of Glamour in Fergie’s interview:

Per Glamour:

On reaching this level of success and fulfilling her dreams:
“For some lucky reason or gift from God, I’ve known what I wanted to do since I was a little girl. And even through disappointments and rejection, there was something inside of me that wouldn’t give up. I’m a survivor, and I’m very driven.”

On having self-esteem:
“[If] you start making the right choices for yourself, all of a sudden you start feeling better and better. You’d be surprised how addicting high self-esteem is.”

On her relationship with husband Josh Duhamel being featured in the tabloids:
“Just knowing that our relationship was stronger than that. We live in a voyeuristic world, and it’s part of our business. But I like to [focus on] all the perks that I get in this business.”

Her advice to young women:
“There were periods of my life when a lot of people didn’t believe in me. [But] I still had faith in myself. I really had to ask myself life questions. Where do I see myself in five years? Create a ladder for yourself, and walk up the steps. Climb that ladder.”

Her advice to teenage girls:
“I think a lot of you teenagers try to get [esteem] from accolades from other people, or boys, and what you learn as you get older is that you have to create that within yourself.”

She’s looking fierce on the cover of Glamour! Congrats! What do you think of Glamour’s Women of the Year? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Already a massive star in her native U.K., with one million singles sold, two No. 1 hits, and three No. 1 Airplay records to her credit, soulful pop singer and actress Pixie Lott is ready to unleash her talent Stateside this summer. Her debut U.S. single, “Boys and Girls,” is available at all digital service providers this week via Interscope Records.

The high-energy dance-pop jam “Boys and Girls” is 19-year-old Lott’s second consecutive No. 1 single in the U.K., and it’s just a taste of what’s to come when Lott releases her debut album, Turn It Up, in the U.S. in early 2011. Already certified double-platinum in the U.K., Turn It Up features Lott’s songwriting collaborations with RedOne (Lady Gaga), Greg Kurstin (Lily Allen, Sia), Toby Gad (Beyonce, Fergie, Cutfather and Jonas Jeburg (Kylie Minogue, Pussycat Dolls), and Kara DioGuardi.

In addition to releasing five singles in the U.K., Lott has scored three No. 1 Airplay tracks. She is the only U.K. or international recording artist of the last 10 years to have three debut singles hit No. 1 on the U.K. Airplay chart. She has also earned three BRIT Award nominations (including Breakthrough Artist) and a Q Award nomination, and won two MTV Europe Music Awards. This summer, Lott has appeared as support on the British leg of Rihanna’s “Last Girl on Earth” Tour.

An actress since the age of 12, Lott stars alongside Lucas Cruikshank in the feature film “Fred: The Movie“, based on the popular YouTube videos, which will premiere on Nickelodeon on September 17th. She has also been cast alongside Bette Midler, Adrien Brody, and Sharon Stone in the film “Sweet Baby Jesus” — a ’70s flashback comedy from writer Steve Blair and directed by Peter Hewitt.

Celebrity Virginity Report Card

I have returned from my Pop Tart rehab kittens. So I decided to kick off my toaster pastries free morning with a report on when celebrities lost their virginity. Consider yourself lucky that we don’t have another post on Lindsay Lohan’s drunken ramblings. (We do. I am a tease.)

Tina Fey confirmed her magic number was 24. While on David Letterman the “30 Rock” star stated that waiting so long wasn’t “by choice.”

Matthew McConaughey was a teen when he ventured into the realm of sex. He squealed to Playboy in 2008 that he was just 15, but wanted to be a gentleman and gave no further details.

Paris Hilton was also just 15 when Randy Spelling claims to have first ridden the human STD dispenser.

Sienna Miller said buh-bye to being a virgin at 16. She admitted that she and her mother were very open about her safety and begged her to “do it at home if you are going to do it at all.” (Via Us)

Megan Fox had managed to keep it in her pants until she was 17. She described her first time as “nice” thanks to the fact that she was “in love” when she gave it up.

Tiger Woods and His First Girlfriend

Before Tiger Woods was peeing on hookers, he lost his virginity to a high school girlfriend at the age of 17. “We would wait for my parents to go to bed and then make out on the sofa in front of the television for hours. We were first boyfriend and girlfriend in all sense of the word.” (Via NY Post)

Stripper Apologizes To Fergie For Boinking Josh, Claims He’s Still Texting Her

fergie-flipping-off-1

The stripper who claims to have had an affair with Josh Duhamel isn’t letting go of her time in the spotlight, instead reaching out to apologize to Fergie for messing around with her husband. Nicole Forrester (husband boinking stripper) even passed a lie detector test regarding her affair with Duhamel. (Click HERE to see the videos of her confession.)

nicole-forrester-sorry-on-extra-1

Per Extra:

“I thought, ‘Nobody’s gonna find out. It’s not gonna hurt anybody,” says Nicole Forrester, a 34-year-old single mother of two who says she slept with Duhamel, 37, while he was filming “Live As We Know It” in Atlanta. “I’m sorry. I’m sorry that I didn’t think of it at the time like I think of it now. She’s standing by her man, so obviously I’m not wrecking the home too bad, huh?” she says.”

Now thats one classy lady, huh? Note to Nicole – Your sincerity becomes questionable when you insist that you are not a homewrecker. Forrester further mentions that her own family, including her two young children, has suffered due the recent scandal.

“My son, he went to a football game last Saturday and he was like, mom, ‘you’re disgusting. I didn’t know you had sex with him,’” he says.”

Aww, such a heartwarming tale, dontcha think? What, is she hawking for a ‘Lifetime movie of the week?’ LeAnne Rimes is looking for work, and she’s fit the part of Forrester perfectly! Nevertheless, it proved to be a life changing experience for her, because she says she has given up stripping since her children asked her to. Despite her son calling her disgusting and the amount of public backlash she has endured, Forrester can’t seem to quit talking about her time with Duhamel. At first Forrester claimed she and the actor had a “really, really good time” together, but now she’s singing a different tune saying she was not ‘wowed’ by Duhamel’s bedroom skills.

Per Huffington Post:

“As far as the best sex? No, I don’t think that was it,” she said.

But then, in what seems to be a backhanded move, Forrester mentions that Duhamel has still been sending her text messages since the scandal broke. So what exactly is she trying to tell Fergie – I’m sorry I slept with your man, and by the way, he’s still in contact with me? That’s quite an apology, huh? My guess is she’s only apologizing due to her son thinking his mom is a homewrecking skank.

Quotables:

Heckler Spray: “You have to feel for Nicole Forrester. After all, how was she to know that allegedly sleeping with a married actor and then voluntarily doing numerous high profile paid interviews about it on TV, radio and in print would lead to people finding out about it? She’s the real victim here. That poor woman.”
