Universal officials have been extremely secretive with the plans to expand the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. The theme park has been working on the expansion project after enjoying the massive success of the addition, but has shared no details beyond the fact that it will happen. When Hollywood Dame visited the park in October 2011, many fellow visitors reported filing out a survey before they left. One of the questions hinted to the expansion… “Would you return to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter if it was twice its current size?”
Now, we are left to deduce with little clues that the park is can’t keep secret. The ‘Jaws’ ride was shut down and fans had their last ride on January 2nd. The park has moved quickly on demolishing the boat ride and already has the land ready for a new project. That new project might be the WWOHP expansion according to some theories.
Shortly after Universal announced the close of JAWS, it was rumored that a Transformers 3D experience would replace the shark terrorized boat ride. However, the park has filed plans of their requested re-grade for the demolished lagoon. A state agency received the paperwork that contains a map outlining a 7.49 acre area that has been labeled as “a main utility tie-in” and noted as “Project 722.” Before Universal went public with the original Potter park plans it was dubbed “Strongarm” when similar land grading requests were made.
