Rosie O’Donnell Replaces Oprah

As if anyone could really replace the Mighty Oprah Winfrey, it appears someone, somewhere thinks that Rosie O’Donnell can replace her.

O’Donnell, once the queen of daytime talk herself, is set to resume the daytime spotlight once Oprah bows out later this year. O’Donnell will base her one-hour long talk show from Oprah’s vacated Harpo Studio in Chicago.

Via The Toronto Sun:

“Harpo is a world class studio and I can’t wait to do my show from Chicago,” O’Donnell said in a statement. “It’s a dream come true.”

O’Donnell currently hosts a two-hour radio program on Sirius XM radio called ‘Rosie Radio,’ which she began shortly after her brief stint on the talk show, ‘The View.’

How does Oprah feel about O’Donnell moving in?

“I’m delighted to welcome Rosie to the studio I’ve called home for so many years. Speaking from experience, she will be working with the best team in television in one of the greatest cities in the world.”

Harpo (yes, that is Oprah backwards) also produces the Dr. Oz Show, The Dr. Phil Show, and The Rachel Ray Show.

Oprah Sets Date for Final Show

We knew the end was coming and now we have a definite date of Oprah’s last show on network TV. Her show has been on TV for 25 years, but despite the show’s continued success, Oprah decided to launch her own network (OWN) and leave network TV. Currently her show is in re-runs, but she promises us BIG things for the final six weeks. Oprah and Harpo Productions confirmed Friday that the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show will air on May 25th. It’s hard to believe her show will be no more in less than two months…

Per Us:

“You have all invited me into your lives,” an emotional Winfrey told her studio audience in November 2009, when announcing that her 25th season would be her last. “We’ve grown together. I want you all to know that my relationship with you is one that I hold very dear. Your trust in me, your sharing your precious time with me…has brought me the greatest joy that I have ever known.”

Ratings for her new network, OWN, haven’t been great. They are decent, but not the huge numbers she was pulling on network TV. What will happen once she’s only available on cable TV? I don’t think the ratings will be anywhere near what they were. While on network TV Oprah’s show was free for those who didn’t have cable. Now that she’s established her OWN network people will have to pay a premium if they want to watch Oprah. Her network is available only on cable and not just basic cable, but premium cable. Which means more money out of her viewer’s pockets.

Although Oprah seems to be a very smart business woman I don’t think launching a network only available through a premium cable subscription was the smartest thing to do. People are struggling with money these days and many people have had to cut out the extras like premium cable.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette Reconciling !?

Courteney Cox and David Arquette have had a rocky past few months. The couple announced they were splitting up last Fall. David didn’t handle the break up well and spewed not so nice things about Court in interviews, spent lots of time partying, and then ended up in rehab. A few weeks ago David was on Oprah, talking about his addiction and his break up with Courteney, and confessed that he’d love to get his family back together. Perhaps David is getting his wish.

It’s good to see David working through his issues and it seems that Courteney is very supportive. This past weekend they were spotted at a flower shop together in Malibu. Was it just a friendly get together as friends or are they working it out? Not sure, but Courteney seemed to leave the option open. Cox told the April issue of Harper’s Bazaar she holds no ill feelings toward her husband of almost 12 years, and seemed to leave he door open for a possible reconciliation.

Per Digital Spy:

In the interview, the Cougar Town star admitted that she would have “huge waves of pain” if their partnership was dissolved entirely. “But right now, I don’t have that, because I don’t know what the future holds, and I guess because I have strong feelings for him,” Cox added.

Miley Cyrus‘ parents decided to give another try last week and Pink and her hubby were on their way to divorce, but reconciled. It could happen! Best of luck to Courteney and David!

Oprah’s Family Secret Is A SISTER – PHOTOS

Oprah has deep family secret that she swears on a stack of O magazines isn’t about one of her dogs crapping out puppies. She has been teasing her fans with hints to this family secret that will make you snatch a box of tissues and speed dial Dr. Phil.

“I was given some news that literally shook me to my core… I was keeping a family secret for months, and on Monday you’re going to hear it straight from me. I thought I’d seen it all, but this, my friends, is the miracle of all miracles.”

A celebrity biographer named Kitty Kelley has dug up the secret and shared it with the world. (Way to steal a trick’s thunder.) Get ready to gasp and clutch your pearls…Oprah has a half sister she never knew about.

“Kitty Kelley (pictured left), the famed celebrity biographer who wrote the definitive story of Oprah’s life and career last year, told me Saturday that the secret is the half-sister who was placed for adoption as a baby. Citing an “inside family source,” Kelley said Winfrey’s mother, Vernita Lee, gave birth to the daughter named Patricia, whom she “gave away shortly after she was born because she couldn’t afford to take care of her.” Patricia, who is now a grandmother, will appear with Oprah on Monday’s show.”

That’s it? I was expecting something like she discovered that she had a twin brother named Barack Obama or Jesus was her Uncle. In related news a older woman from Mississippi was seen streaking through the streets screaming “This is better than winning the lottery! Ima gonna swim in a money pit, eat gold and ride flyin’ ponies!”

Oprah Contemplated Suicide While Pregnant At 14 – Video

Oprah tells Piers Morgan tonight, in his inaugural interview on CNN, that she contemplated suicide at 14 while pregnant.

Per NY Daily News:

“Getting pregnant was a result of bad choices, not having boundaries, sexual abuse from the time I was 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13,” the talk show queen revealed during an interview on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight.” Shortly after the pregnancy, Winfrey’s mother sent the young teen to live with her father in Nashville.

While explaining the strict rules of the household, her father — not knowing his daughter was pregnant — declared, “I would rather see a daughter of mine floating down the Cumberland River than to bring shame on this family and the indecency of an illegitimate child.” Fearful, Winfrey thought, “Before the baby was born, I’m going to have to kill myself,” adding she did “stupid things like drinking detergent and all that kind of crazy stuff that you do when you’re trying to get attention, when you’re really just trying to cry for help.”

Another day, another dollar! When it comes to making money who were the top celebrities according to Forbes Magazine? No surprise, Oprah topped the list again raking is an estimated $315 million this year! I wonder if she’ll be on top again next year as she’ll be leaving network TV at the end of Spring of 2011 to join her OWN network.

Who else made the list of the highest earning celebs?

Hugh Jackman Injured in Oprah Stunt – VIDEO

Hugh Jackman is like a one man Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade so of course he couldn’t just walk on stage. I mean…this is OPRAH!

Instead of sauntering onto the stage like any other trick, he opted to zip line in. Instead of then doing a graceful swan dive to the stage as glitter cannons exploded with his entrance…he hit the brakes to late and crashed into a lighting rig. Jackman hurt his eye, but carried on with a glass of Merlot (not kidding) and an eye patch. True divas make that shiz work.

“I came down waving to everyone, looking over Sydney Harbor, saw my dad, the kids and you, went to pull the brake and then boing. Totally my bad.”

Last night Barbara Walters ‘Most Fascinating People of 2010′ special aired. Barbara sat down with celebrities like Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Oprah, Sandra Bullock, and the entire cast of MTV’s hit reality show ‘Jersey Shore.’

I couldn’t believe that they made this years list, but I guess it makes sense. Who were these people before the Jersey Shore? And what makes them so popular and able to earn up to $10 million a year? You must see the video – Barbara learns all about the G-T-L and “smushing!”

Oprah Say “I’m Not Gay” – Video

Rumors have been swirling for years that the Queen of Daytime, Oprah, is really a lesbian and has been in a relationship for some time with her best friend Gayle King. She finally addresses the rumors in her recent interview with Barbara Walters.

Per NY Daily News:

“I’m not even kind of a lesbian,” the talk show queen, 56, tells Walters. “And the reason why [the rumor] irritates me is because it means that somebody must think I’m lying. That’s No. 1. No. 2 … why would you want to hide it? That is not the way I run my life.”

Oprah on Gayle:

“She is … the mother I never had,” Winfrey says as she chokes back tears. “She is … the sister everybody would want. She is the friend that everybody deserves. I don’t know a better person. I don’t know a better person.”

“It’s making me cry because I’m thinking about … how much … I probably have never told her that,” she adds.

Their long-time friendship is beautiful. Two women can absolutely be best friends forever and not be gay. Gayle and Oprah are those kind of friends. Her relationship for the past 20 years has been with Stedman Graham and she says that she is happy with her life.

The entire interview will air on Thursday night at 9/8 p.m. central.

Portia de Rossi’s Battle with Anorexia

Actress Portia de Rossi has published her first book, a memoir entitled: ‘Unbearable Lightness: A Story of Loss and Gain.’

The memoir chronicles the ‘Arrested Devlopment’ star’s battle with anorexia and coming to terms with her sexual identity after landing her first major role on the television show ‘Ally McBeal’.

“I didn’t think I was crazy to only eat 300 calories a day. That made perfect sense to me…My struggle with anorexia, coming to terms with my sexuality, I realized I had struggled with self-acceptance my whole life. To be able to get to a point where you’re just happy with who you are, I think that’s when you know what real peace feels like.”

de Rossi also sat down with her wife, Ellen DeGeneres, and talk show legend Oprah Winfrey to discuss her battle.
