Balloon Boy Hoax Interrupts the Dame’s Workout, Snark Ensues

I wasn’t going to address the “Balloon Boy” nuttery as children annoy me and as you may already know, I am not above making my neighborhood children cry for funsies. However, I felt I should air it out before Octomom starts sending her children up in balloons for fun and continues to abuse tax payers $.

Some offspring of storm chasing, wife swapping parents had America busting out binoculars and lighting candles in a vigil for some brat floating around in a gigantic helium balloon. While working out (and by working out I mean hitting the juice bar while watching a man built like a baby elephant who I lovingly call Thor do dips with 90 lbs of weight strapped to his waist) yours truly heard about said balloon boy and was forced to come home to report about it. By the time I got home the brat was found hiding in his attic and the balloon landed.

To add to the gigantic “Worse than Jon Gosselin” moment, the kid went and admitted on Larry King and when asked if he heard his mom and dad screaming for him and why he didn’t come out the tot replied:

“Well, you guys said we did this for a show.”

The mom of balloon boy then talked about how they looked for him in “small drawers” and at friends’ houses. WTF? I should mention here that these Kardashian wannabes have been on “Wife Swap” TWICE and made a video called “Not Pussified” so this is their first attempt at famwhorin’. Enter Kanye West: “Yo Balloon Boy, I’ma let you finish…But Anne Frank had the best attic hideout of all time!”

Caster Semenya is a Girl…and a Boy!

Sports really isn’t our thing, but we are all over stories about hermaphrodites.

Caster Semenya has been making headlines since the South African won a victory in the 800-meter during the world championships. Many people began to question whether or not Semenya was really a women due to her broad shoulders, deep voice, lack of lady lumps, and handlebar mustache…ok, she shaved.

Turns out those inquiring minds were on to something. After being forced to take a gender test by The International Association of Athletics Federations, it turns out that Semenya is both a girl and a boy.

Via New York Daily News:

“The 18-year-old South African champ has no womb or ovaries and her testosterone levels are more than three times higher than those of a normal female, according to reports…Semenya could be stripped of the gold medal she won in Berlin last month and her competitive future is in limbo, according to Australia’s Daily Telegraph.”

The Federation has also suggested that Semenya have the necessary surgery to fix his…her…its little problem.

Semenya released the following statement:

“God made me the way I am and I accept myself. I am who I am and I’m proud of myself. I don’t want to talk about the tests. I’m not even thinking about them.”

She then grabbed her crotch, spit, and asked what time the game was on.

While I sit here with my coffee and get ready to start the day being overly cruel to Katherine Heigl or hunting for juicy tidbits to share, I wanted to take a moment of seriousness to remember the day that further changed our lives.

It’s been 8 years since the morning of September 11th, 2001. Everyone has their story on how they found out and the domino effect that hit home to everyone. Today I hope that you will remember and continue healing. At 8:46 am EST a moment of silence will take place in New York as families and loved ones will gather and read the names of those who perished along with Mayor Bloomberg. LaGarrette Blount Suckerpunch – Video

I know what you’re thinking kittens, “What is a sports story doing on Hollywood Dame?” We are used to only writing about sports figures when they are half naked with muscles rippling like mighty Pacific at low tide…is it hot in here?

Oh yes, LaGarrette Blount. Sorry.

College football season officially began last night and, since the games themselves tend to be so very boring (except, of course, when my lovely Michigan State Spartans are playing), a senior runningback for the University of Oregon decided to liven things up a little….but putting the beat down on his opposition.

However, Blount didn’t stop there.

Via The Post Chronicle:

“LeGarrette Blount has demonstrated exactly what a football player should never do after sucker-punching an opposing team member…hitting his own team member before trying to go after opposing fans in the stands.”

That’s correct. After suckerpunching Boise State’s Byron Howe, he continued to hit his own teammates and then go after fans in the stands you were, rightly so, making fun of the turd for his behavior.

Blount has already been suspended once this year after displaying “behavioral issues” at his first practice of the season. Shocking.

He will likely face heavy consequences for his douchebag display.

Michelle Duggar Pregnant with 19th Child

This family reproduces so quick that rabbits must be jealous! Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, who are already parents to 18 children ranging from age 21 down to 8 months and with one grandchild on the way, have announced that they are expecting their 19th baby this spring! Nope, thats not a typo my friends! Maybe Jim Bob should consider changing his name to Mr. Jack Rabbit…?

Per People:

“We are so thrilled,” says Michelle, 42. “We just couldn’t believe it is happening.” Jim Bob, 44, agrees: “This never gets old. We are so grateful for each child. We are looking forward to our first grand baby and our 19th child.”

The Duggar’s oldest son Joshua and his wife Anna are expecting their first baby, a daughter they play to name Mackynzie Renee, next month. The Duggars live debt-free in a house they built themselves with their kids, whose names all begin with the letter J: Joshua, 21; twins Jana and John-David, 19; Jill, 18; Jessa, 16; Jinger, 15; Joseph, 14; Josiah, 13; Joy-Anna, 11; twins Jedidiah and Jeremiah, 10; Jason, 9; James, 8; Justin, 6; Jackson, 5; Johanna, 3; Jennifer, 2, and Jordyn-Grace, 8 months. While it is too early to know whether they are having another boy or girl, they already have a list of names starting with the letter J to choose from. The couple have been happily (obviously!) married now for just over 25 years with their lives being documented on their TLC show “18 Kids And Counting.”

I just can’t seem to wrap my head around having that many kids. I have two myself and I’m ready to start my own personal happy hour by noon! But then again I guess after you have a dozen or so, one more added to the mix won’t be that big of a deal. I bet her uterus is crying right about now, screaming “enough!”

Celebrity Reactions to the Death of DJ AM, Adam Goldstein

Its with heavy hearts that we must announce the passing of another musical artist. Adam Goldstein, more famously known as DJ AM, was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday afternoon. The cause of death is still unknown at this time but a source claims drug paraphernalia, such as a pipe commonly used to smoke drugs, and prescription drug bottles were found in the apartment next to his body.

Celebrities are taking to their personal Twitter pages to send out their condolences and thoughts about Goldstein.

Per TMZ:

John Mayer: In complete shock.

Lindsay Lohan: i can’t believe this.. i’m in shock. why? why? r.i.p. adam.

Alyssa Milano: May you rest in peace, Adam. You touched many with your light and will be missed like crazy.

Ryan Seacrest: So sad the hear about adam. a very kind and generous guy.

Dr. Drew: I lack the words to describe my feelings.

Ashton Kutcher: much love to my boy AM.

Soliel Moon Frye: Thank you for bringing so much music and inspiration to peoples lives. Rip Dj Am.

A friend reportedly arrived at Adam’s apartment to check on him after not hearing from him for a few days, but got no response after knocking on his door. The friend then called the police, who entered and found his body. He was only 36 years old. His last public appearance was this past Sunday at Citi Field in NYC where he threw out the first pitch at a Mets game. He last updated his personal Twitter on Tuesday with a chilling lyric from the opening line to the famous Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five song “New York, New York.”

Per DJ AM’s Twitter:

“New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems.”

Goldstein had previously been battling drug addiction and even had a show on the MTV network to help out those who were struggling with drugs. He was very popular on the celebrity circuit as he was frequently booked for high profile parties and celebrations. Goldstein was once engaged to Nicole Richie and also dated Mandy Moore on and off for several years. A year ago, he suffered severe burns when the Learjet carrying him and Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker crashed near a runway in South Carolina, killing 4 people, heading to California.

Tonight Goldstein was supposed to be deejaying at Rain in Las Vegas, Nevada. No additional details regarding Adam Goldstein’s death have been revealed, as the story is still developing. Our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to his family and friends during this tragic time.

Senator Ted Kennedy Dead at 77

Senator Edward ‘Ted’ Kennedy has passed away. The senator for Massachusetts had been battling brain cancer for just over a year. The youngest of the Kennedy brother political dynasty was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in May of last year. He survived a successful surgery, but his health continued to fail. Ted suffered a public seizure at the Inaugural luncheon that he appeared to have easily recovered as Senator Chris Dodd stated he was with him as they loaded him in the ambulance and said that Kennedy was talking and making a few small jokes.

Clues to his further deterioration surfaced after his sister, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, passed away earlier this month. He was unable to attend the funeral service and his wife, Victoria Kennedy, went in his place. Ted passed late yesterday night just before his memoir is due out. “True Compass” will be published and released this fall.

It is a great loss to the nation. The “liberal lion” will be irreplaceable. Our deepest condolences to the family and friends effected by his passing.

Legendary CBS Anchor Walter Cronkite Dead At 92

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of beloved newsman Walter Cronkite. He was 92 years young. Cronkite’s chief-of-staff, Marlene Adler, listed the cause of his death as cerebral vascular disease.

Cronkite was the face of CBS Evening News from 1962 to 1981. He covered thousands of stories including the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He was even given the nick-name “the most trusted man in America.”

“It is impossible to imagine CBS News, journalism or indeed America without Walter Cronkite,” CBS News president Sean McManus said in a statement. “More than just the best and most trusted anchor in history, he guided America through our crises, tragedies and also our victories and greatest moments.”

Madonna’s Stage Collapses, Killing One and Injuring Six

A stage being constructed in France for an upcoming concert by Madonna has collapsed, killing a 53 year old man and injuring at least six others. Reports indicate that a crane collapsed while installing Madonna’s stage for her concert, falling apart on top of several of the workers. The injured were taken to local hospitals, while two of the workers are said to be in critical condition.

Per People:

“I am devastated to have just received this tragic news,” the singer said in a statement Thursday through her spokesperson Liz Rosenberg. “My prayers go out to those who were injured and their families along with my deepest sympathy to all those affected by this heartbreaking news.”

Police and fire officials have closed the stadium while trying to rescue anyone who still trapped. The cause of the accident has not yet been determined. The 50-year-old Queen of Pop was supposed to perform on Sunday at the Stade Velodrome stadium in Marseille, but the concert has since been cancelled. This was one of the stops on the European leg of Madonna’s “Sticky and Sweet” tour.

I know many of you aren’t digging the new layout of the site. Thanks for the emails and comments with your feedback. I read every email I get from you guys and I will take every suggestion into consideration. The redesign is a work in progress. We aren’t done changing things and are currently testing the waters.
