Adam Lambert is Queen’s New Frontman

Former “American Idol” finalist Adam Lambert will join rock band Queen as its lead singer this year. Lambert reportedly told the British tabloid Daily Star that he will, in fact, hit the road this summer with original members guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor to play a string of dates, including one at Knebworth in England, where Queen played their final show with the band’s original frontman Freddie Mercury in 1986.

Lambert, who previously performed with Queen at the MTV European Music Awards last November, said that he had “no intention” of trying to replace the Mercury.

Blind Items: Famous Couple – No Sex for 5 YEARS

This A list movie actress who got her start way back in the day on tv and then did some more along the way, let it slip the other day that she and her always a B list (for one role in particular) movie actor husband have not had sex in almost five years. It is kind of ironic if you think about it. [Crazy Days and Nights]

Lady Gaga Kicks Adam Lamber Out of Her Party

Adam Lambert showed up uninvited to Lady Gaga’s surprise birthday party at the Mexican joint La Cita Bar. He was soon asked to leave thanks to his drunken behavior.

The ‘American Idol’ runner up came with the Scissor Sisters who were invited to the bash. He showed up to the bar already drunk and belligerent. Perez told the Morning Dish radio show that he was “beyond drunk, super sloppy embarrassingly drunk.” (It’s at the 5:10 minute marker.)

Soon after he arrived he started beating on the walls and eventually punched a hole in the bar’s low ceiling. Lambert confirmed the incident with a Tweet about his fist hurting. Semiprecious Weapons also called him out during their performance and yelled to the crowd, ‘from American Idol to jail!’

“Was trying for celebratory gesture 4 gaga’s B- piñata style…instead my fist is all bruised and la cita has a hole in the ceiling. #sloppy.”

What the Hello Kitty kind of celebratory gesture involves throwing fists? Did he think he was with the monkeys on Jersey Shore? But the ‘Born this Way’ songstress hit her limit when Adam started to shove things in her mouth. He also reportedly tried to sing for Gaga and that didn’t end well.

Via Us:

“Adam acted like an animal. He kept jumping up on the tables and chairs and screaming. When they brought the cake out he tried to smear it in Gaga’s face and put a doll from the cake in her mouth!”

After that, she had her security team throw Lambert out of the party and told him to go home.

Isn’t it is really sad when someone who wears her see-through latex dresses/nipple tape to public events tells you to class it up?

Big ‘American Idol’ Changes Leaked!

As the debut of this years’ ‘American Idol‘ approaches (January 19th for those of you living under a rock), massive changes to the original format have been revealed! These changes are actually good news, though!

Per The Hollywood Reporter:

UPDATED SET: The set is undergoing substantial modification.

FASTER ELIMINATION: The elimination process is speeding up considerably. Instead of a three-week top 24 round in which America votes, the judges will narrow down the field to 10 or 12 finalists.

ONLINE VOTING: Despite persistent rumors that would lead us to believe otherwise, there will be no online voting.

NEW LIVING ARRANGEMENT: Finalists will all live in an Idol mansion. The show will have a “Big Brother” aspect to it.

ORIGINAL SONGS: Producer-songwriters will help them with song selection, then arrange and produce the musical accompaniment — for the first time ever, contestants won’t be limited solely to cover songs.

THEME WEEK MAKEOVERS: Theme weeks will also get a makeover. “We’re not going to ask a country singer to sing an R&B song, or an R&B singer to do Led Zeppelin,” Jimmy Iovine explains. “If the theme is ’80s or Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, every song will be customized to that contestant.” What’s most important, he adds, is that the song suit the finalist’s voice.

Also, the Idol contestants will not be making music videos (except for maybe those awful Ford ones,) and there will be no appearance by “American Idol all-stars.” Ray Chew, formerly of the “Saturday Night Live” band, will also become the new music director. Also new: there will also be no gender parity.

Explains exec producer Ken Warwick: “If I’ve got six fantastic boys and four average girls, I’m certainly not going to throw out a fantastic boy to put in another average girl, or vice versa.”

And there’s great news for the show’s fans: No more months-long wait for music from their favorite singers – songs will be released as the season progresses. While many ideas were tossed up against the wall, one that was considered and abandoned was having past winners face off against former finalists who may have deserved another chance, such as Fantasia taking on Jennifer Hudson or David Cook taking on Adam Lambert. The idea didn’t get very far since few past winners and finalists were keen on it.

Will you be tuning in?

Adam Lambert Attacks Photographer – PHOTOS

Adam Lambert was lounging around on the beach in his best cowboy straw hat and became enraged after a photographer reportedly provoked him. Lambert slummed it to the paps level and attacked the paparazzi. He slapped, grabbed and wrestled the pap before one of his back up dancers pulled him off the photog. (Congratulations. You just gave them exactly what they wanted.)

Later, Lambert Tweeted:

“Eeew paparazzi killed my peaceful afternoon on the beach! They’re real good at provoking, but there ain’t any pics or video of the bs they spew out. Hahha the photos are hilarious!!! LOL please everyone forgive me for that hat. I was attempting a disguise — clearly failed.”

Meh, at least he scored some relevancy.

UPDATE: The photog that Adam attacked filed a battery claim with Miami police.

Via TMZ:

“Law enforcement sources tell us the paparazzo seen grappling with Lambert on the beach yesterday walked into a Miami Beach police station around 10:30 PM last night and filed a report … accusing the singer of misdemeanor battery. Cops tell detectives will decide if the case is worth turning over to the State’s Attorney — who will decide whether to prosecute Lambert. If convicted, Lambert could face up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.”

Adam Lambert Says Susan Boyle is ‘Terrible’

susan-boyle-and-adam-lambert

The sometimes too outspoken “American Idol” runner up Adam Lambert recently took some time out of his busy schedule to launch a verbal attack on fellow talent show contestant Susan Boyle. Lambert says the “Britain’s Got Talent” star massacred the Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses” when she covered it and he almost “died” laughing when he heard her version for the first time.

Per Starpulse:

He tells Britain’s Gay Times, “If only it weren’t for Susan Boyle! I’m happy for her success, but that album is terrible. Wild Horses is the one that made me laugh the hardest. I just died when I heard it, I was crying with laughter. It was the most horrendous, sacrilegious treatment of that song! Still, when my album charted, it was validating. I was feeling bit attacked, like I had to vindicate something. I thought: ‘Wow, look what I did.’”

Lambert‘s own album opened well in its first week with 200,000 copies sold last November, but Boyle’s record kept him off the number one spot with over 700,000 copies. Jealous much?

Adam Lambert Trying To Get Song On ‘Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ Soundtrack

adam-lambert

Adam Lambert thinks one of his tunes is perfect for the “Twilight Saga: Eclipse” soundtrack with his song “Suburban Decay.” Lambert already had success in with his track “Time for Miracles” that was featured in the film “2012” but now hopes to sink his teeth into the popular vampire franchise.

Per MTV:

“It’s a great song and I hope to perform it someday, and I think it will find a home, on a soundtrack or something … maybe ‘Twilight,’ ” he told MTV News. “It just didn’t quite fit [in my album]. It’s very theatrical. … It’s very campy, and it was just a bit too campy for the album as a big picture. Hey, ‘Eclipse’ … Want my song? It’s kind of about vampires,” he offered, noting a verse about “bloodlust.”

He originally wrote the song for his debut album, but the song was dropped from the final track listing. Although the vibe of the song didn’t go with the rest of his album, Lambert thinks the track would be the perfect accompaniment to the heightening love triangle between Bella, Jacob, and Edward.

Ok, I’m going to have to veto this. Every attention-seeking, glory-grabbing, fame-hungry sensationalist (and their sister) is going to try to do something to become part of this franchise or to monopolize on it. Lambert falls into the above-mentioned category and is not right for the Twilight Saga. No thanks Adam Lambert – I love the “Twilight” and “New Moon” soundtracks, and I want to be able to love “Eclipse’s” too!

Adam Lambert Says He Meant No Disprespect

Adam Lambert has had to answer a lot of questions about his provocative American Music Awards performance over the last week or so, and the questions don’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. He’ll once again open up about the performance that shocked some people when he appears on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” He admitted that he may have crossed a line or two during the performance, but says that he’s still learning. Lambert also said he didn’t “intend to disrespect anyone” with the performance and that he has no hard feelings toward ABC, which canceled his “Good Morning America” appearance after his risky performance. Following the performance, Lamberts mom supported him on “The Early Show,” but Lambert his dad thought he should have apologized.

Per Celebitchy:

“My dad was like, ‘Maybe you should apologize, Adam,’” he says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Tuesday. “I was like, “You know, dad, I don’t feel like I did anything wrong. It just wasn’t maybe the right judgment call. It’s a taste thing more than an obscenity thing. I think it’s just a taste level.’”

As for ABC and Good Morning America, he claims they were ‘a little mad’ at him and that he doesn’t blame them, saying they gave him a ‘great opportunity’ and that he would ‘never want to smack that gift horse in the mouth.’ Well I’m glad that he is finally admitting that his actions were a bit inappropriate for network tv. Adam is very talented and should be known for his vocals, not his antics. What Lambert really needs is someone besides himself to make PR and creative decisions. I still cannot believe he didn’t know that the family viewers who supported him on “American Idol” wouldn’t be offended by his AMA shenanigans.

Adam Lambert Defends His Over-The-Top Performance

adam-lambert-2009-amas-performance-1

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or you’re just now waking up from your vodka & cranberry induced hangover, then you’ve heard about Adam Lamberts‘ way over the top lol-tastic AMA closing performance last night singing his new single “For Your Entertainment.” (Check it out here.) Now Lambert is speaking out, giving no apologies for his sexually-charged performance which angered parents who quickly began posting messages of disgust online.

Per StarPulse:

“I’m hoping people were entertained. For those who weren’t, maybe I’m not their cup of tea. I’m just trying to have a good time onstage. It’s a sexy song. It’s 2009; it’s time to take more risks. It’s about entertainment. People want to be surprised. It’s too bad that people are so scared.”

In addition to starting the performance out by dragging a female dancer around by her ankles, pushing a male dancer’s head into his gyrating crotch, snapping the bikini area of another female’s costume, flipping off the crowd, walking a pair of male dancers around on a leash, and taking every opportunity to thrust his hips and remind us all that he’s a very limber guy, Lambert took a moment mid-song to play tonsil hockey with his straight keyboard player on the spur of the moment. When asked how he would feel if the performance was edited for West Coast viewers, Lambert said he would not be happy.

“If it’s gonna be edited, then in a way that’s discrimination. I don’t mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney and Christina (kissing at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards) weren’t edited. It’s a shame. Female entertainers have been risqué for years. Honestly, there’s a huge double standard.”

ABC had to quickly cut to an audience shot during the performance when Lambert had a male dancer simulate oral sex on him, and at least some portion of that performance (presumably the latter) did not get approved beforehand, and was cited as being too racy to repeat on the west coast airing. Critical reaction to Lambert’s performance mixed, with some applauding his boldness but more questioning the over-the-top nature of what can only be described as him trying too hard to be noticed and taken seriously. Luckily, he gets a semi do-over tonight on Letterman where he will hopefully tone down the antics and concentrate more on what he should be known for – the singing. Adam sounded like a lounge act in Reno last night. This kid is trying too hard to be “edgy” and “controversial”. Not of fan of his cheap tricks to get fame. It was all “For HIS Entertainment.”
