Lady Gaga Best Magazine Seller

Thanks to her avant-garde on steroids style, Lady Gaga has nabbed the title of Best Magazine Cover Girl. The “Bad Romance” songstress has taken over as the face that sells. Her April Cosmo spread sold nearly 2 million issues while her machine gun bra nabbed the highest selling issue for Rolling Stone this year.

Via WWD:

“According to the Audit Bureau of Circulations, Gaga was the runaway hit at the newsstand in 2010 for monthly and biweekly magazines. The results don’t extend all the way through the end of the year, and they do vary (figures for Condé Nast titles go through November; Hearst titles through October). But it’s safe to say no celebrity will catch up in time to match Gaga’s strong and steady performance throughout the year.”

Rihanna placed second the stands. Her topless January issue of GQ was the second best selling issue while Seventeen enjoyed a top seller featuring the “Only Girl” singer.

Blake Lively placed higher than anticipated. The “Gossip Girl” enjoyed the spoils of being Allure’s best seller. However, she barely made a blip on Vogue sales. Anna Wintour dubbed her one of the best dressed, but she failed to drive sales. Esquire also found Blake to be a bust. Seems she best stick with her female fans.

Anna Wintour Thinks Lady Gaga Is A ‘Childish Diva’

Lady Gaga was dubbed a “childish diva” by Anna Wintour, according to the sometimes outrageously dressed singer’s biographer. Maureen Callahan, author of “Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga,” claims the ice queen Vogue editor-in-chief was left unimpressed after Gaga performed at the Metropolitan Museum Costume Institute Gala in May.

Per The Sun:

“She (Lady GaGa) sort of had a meltdown before she went on and as it was described to me, Anna was really none too pleased with her.” She added: “Anna wasn’t impressed. She thought she was just behaving like a childish diva and not the professional who was about to perform for her peers; these incredibly famous designers and celebrities.”

Lady Gaga may have asked Cher hold her meat purse during her acceptance speech Sunday night, but she probably won’t be accepting another gig to perform for Wintour. Callahan further claims that Wintour refused to bow to Gaga’s alleged demands, leaving quite the bad taste in her mouth.

“She sequestered herself in the back room for a good hour. She was late to perform and I also heard that she had been demanding things. She went to Anna at the last minute and was saying, ‘I’d like it to be this way.’ And Anna just said no. I don’t think she’s used to hearing that very often. When you’re dealing with two egos like that, it gets interesting.”

Quite interesting, indeed! I don’t think Gaga should be sitting around waiting for any future invites from Wintour!

Tim Gunn Stands by Anna Wintour Story – VIDEOS

The only man alive aloud to berate Anna Wintour…Fashion Jesus, Tim Gunn. I adore him so be nice.

The loveable Tim Gunn has been big pimpin’ his new book ‘Gunn’s Golden Rules: Life’s Little Lessons For Making It Work’ on various shows. He hit Regis and Kelly’s show and left a note for Kelly that said “Gurl, eat a cheeseburger. I can see your heart beating through your no-chest. Hugs, The Gunn” (It’s a possibility.)

He also paid a visit to ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.’ On both shows he talked about calling Anna Wintour out for demanding to be carried down 5 flights of stairs after snubbing an elevator. I can’t blame her. My niece calls them floating stinky fart boxes. After sharing the story, Wintour’s minions demanded that Tim retract the story and apologize. To this demand he snapped his fingers and said “Bitch you betta recognize. Tim Gunn doesn’t lie.”

The subject came up again on ‘The Daily Show’ and Tim once again stood by his story and only apologized for implying that Anna didn’t know how to work a Manolo.

Gunn has never been shy when it comes to calling out divas. I literally started a slow clap when he called out Gretchen for being a manipulative wench on ‘Project Runway.’

Tim Gunn Spills Anna Wintour’s Diva Stories

If Tim Gunn is the fashion Jesus leading the way with his silver mane shining like a beacon of hope in women’s style, then Anna Wintour is Beelzebub. She isn’t shy about being a total control freak and making models weep while designers cower at her Proenza Schouler pumps. So, Tim may get away with sharing his stories detailing Wintour’s diva demands in his new book, “Gunn’s Golden Rules.”

One in particular involves Anna being carried down several flights of stairs by two bodyguards. While at Peter Som‘s fashion show at the Metropolitan Pavilion in 2006, Tim witnessed Wintour’s refusal to use the elevator.

NY Post:

“I was with a colleague from Parsons, and we had been discussing the will-she-or-won’t-she-take-the-elevator question, so we ran over to the elevator bay to see if Anna would deign to get on. She wasn’t there. Then we looked over the stairway railing. And what did we see but Anna being carried down the stairs. The bodyguards had made a fireman’s lock and were racing her from landing to landing. She was sitting on their crossed arms.
I ran to the window to see if they would put her down on the sidewalk or carry her to the car like that. They carried her to the car. And I thought: I will never forget this.”

Of course, Vogue minions refused to validate the story and simply stated:

“Tim Gunn has a very vivid imagination. There is no truth to any of this.”

I am guessing Anna was hovering over Vogue’s rep with the heel of her stiletto against their temple. Either way, Tim Gunn is going to wake up with headless mannequin in his bed tomorrow morning.

Anna Wintour on ‘Late Show’ David Letterman – Video

On August 28th in New York, the Devil’s lair will be publicly seen. The making of the September issue of Vogue has been filmed and detailed in a documentary centering around the fabled Ice Queen, Anna Wintour. Personally, I deem her a fierce deity of fashion and she gets the job done with a set of lady balls the size of watermelons.

To promote the debut of “The September Issue,” she hit David Letterman to talk about fashion on a budget, the bench mark magazine and the documentary. He went and addressed the book turned film “The Devil Wears Prada” being about her dominatrix style of work. (We all know not to laugh at belts we see as identical. Move on.) She handled herself very well and even made a few jokes.

This is just me, but for the love of my new Gucci boots….why is Sienna Miller on the cover of such a huge issue? This is why I miss the days when models graced the covers of mags and not some washed up skank able to squeeze into leather pants staring blankly at me.

Anna Wintour Bans Rihanna from Vogue Cover

Thanks to the recent leak of nude photos of Rihanna (see the alleged photos by clicking here), Rihanna won’t be gracing the cover of Vogue any time soon.

Anna Wintour is a notoriously picky with her cover stars. Stars and models of the African American decent rarely get a shot at the feature and must pack a huge pull or A-list following. A flaw in it’s own as Oprah and Michelle Obama have squeaked by on the cover along with Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson. Wintour first made Oprah loose 20 pounds before the cover shots were taken. So when Rihanna was rumored to be the next starlet to land the mag’s feature it was due to be a rare buy.

However, after RiRi’s photos leaked to the internet, any chances of her face appearing on Vogue were gone.

Via Celebitchy per Star Magazine:

“It could have been Rihanna’s shining moment: the cover of Vogue! But when the nude pictures hit cyberspace, her once-in-a-lifetime chance was gone in a flash. Rihanna and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour had been talking for weeks about doing the cover and an inside spread, says a close friend of the singer, who adds that the two even chatted about it at the Met Costume Institute Gala on May 4. “Anna told her Vogue absolutely loves her and really wanted to work with her. Rihanna was ecstatic!” But since the photos came out, says the friend, “Anna hasn’t returned any of her calls. Rihanna’s so upset!”

Aww…too bad. I think it would be good for Anna to pull the broom stick out of her hindquarters.

Anna Wintour Told Oprah to Loose Weight

Watch CBS Videos Online

Anna Wintour came down from Mount Vogue to be questioned by “60 Minutes.” Father Time interviewed the Vogue Editrix to give her an opportunity to try and convince us she isn’t an ice queen, but lovely and fluffy kitten who just loves to be right.

The interview omitted several omissions by Wintour. One edited question surrounded her preference for stick thin cover girls. In 1998 Oprah landed a cover spot with the Fashion Bible. Being notoriously up and down with her weight issues, Anna asked the talk show queen to loose 20 pounds.

Via Us:

“It was a very gentle suggestion,” she said, laughing. “I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight.”

She added: “I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trooper!”

Near the end of the interview the question of contracts came up. Conveniently enough, her contract is about to expire with Vogue. Rumors that ‘Nuclear Wintour’ was on her way out have been swirling for nearly a year. French Vogue Editor, Carine Roitfeld is the front runner to replace her should she be axed or retire. So it is of little surprise that Team Wintour is popping up in the media more often as the contract negotiations are eminent.

It must be lovely being a queen.

Justin Timberlake and Katy Perry Hook Up

If Anna Wintour has her way they will.

The Vogue Ice Queen was at the William Rast fashion show when she got the idea to team up Katy Perry with Justin Timberlake. While at the show with her daughter, Bee Schaffer, she asked her “Who is the singer that talks about kissing girls?” After being informed of Perry’s name she approached Timberlake to run her idea by him. A spy from the NY Post heard of Anna’s plans.

“Wintour told William Rast founder Justin Timberlake that he and Perry should team up for something in an upcoming issue of Vogue, and also told Timberlake that his girlfriend, Jessica Biel, should stop by her office to discuss a future cover.”

My fingers are crossed in hopes it will involve him in a leotard circa the Timberlake Beyonce “All the Single Ladies” SNL spoof. (Nice of Jessica to drag a brush through her mop.)

Michelle Obama’s Vogue Spread – Photos

The First Lady of Fierce is on the cover of Vogue.

Michelle Obama is the second Presidential wife to graced the cover of the Fashion Bible. Hilary Clinton was first to make the cover in 1998. Annie Leibovitz was the photographer for the shoot that took place at the Hay-Adams Hotel. This was the Obama family’s digs before the official inauguration.

On the cover she is wearing a bold magenta dress by Jason Wu. (He was also responsible for her inaugural gown.) In the issue she also wears a simple little black dress by another of her personal favorites, Narciso Rodriguez. Inside she address a few questions one was about trying to keep her role as mother first in her life.

Via The Washington Post Per Vogue:

“I’m going to try to take [our two daughters] to school every morning – as much as I can,” she says, according to the Post. “But there’s also a measure of independence. And obviously there will be times I won’t be able to drop them off at all. I like to be a presence in my kids’ school. I want to know the teacher; I want to know the other parents.”

Anna Wintour also sang her praises. (This speaks volumes as Wintour is a bit…well…picky.)

“Change was the clarion call of Barack Obama’s election campaign, though I don’t think any of us at Vogue initially realized that would include the difference that was going to be made by First Lady Michelle Obama’s wardrobe … It’s inspiring to see our first lady so serene and secure in her personal style.”

Thank God Annie let her keep her top on. What? Too soon?

Anna Wintour Shames Sienna Miller

I have been waiting for the documentary surrounding the working process of famed Ice Queen, Anna Witour. Her notorious….ahem…strenuous work ethic…was captured on film for a documentary that made it’s debut at Sundance.

Poor Sienna Miller was Wintour’s victim in September 2007 issue of Vogue. The film detailed the creation of the magazine and the obstacles presented in cranking out the “Fashion Bible.” One problem happened to be the star on the cover. In the world of this hardcore Editor, not even celebs are spared from her venom.

Via OK! (their exclamation point, not mine):

“A witness of the film said: “It must be awful for Sienna to see. Anna keeps complaining she is too ‘toothy’ and the other staff are worried she has too many fillings. The editors hint at Sienna to cut her hair and she ignores them, which worried them even more. It was funny, but probably not for her.”

The revealing footage also shows the eventual cover shot, taken from pictures by famed photographer Mario Testino, which is made up of two images of Sienna. Her head is taken from one shot and superimposed on another image of her body.”

Ouch. I guess this is the price you pay for getting to hump Jude Law.
